Ancient origins. Podere Le Macchie is a stone farmhouse situated around 3 km away from the small and characteristic village of Poggio d'Acona, in the green Casentino Valley. The farm had very old origins, it was already present in the 'Leopoldine' maps of the 1700 and it was property of the near Castle of Chitignano, which belonged to the noble family of the Ubertini. Besides the Castle, which can be visited on request, in the Municipality of Chitignano the two ancient hamlets of Taena and Rosina, both of Etruscan origins, are worth a visit. Close to the farmhouse passes by the famous 'Via Romea', ancient path covered on foot by pilgrims from Germany and Northern lands to Rome.

The Casentino Valley and its mighty forests. Podere Le Macchie, reachable through an unmade road 2 km long and immersed onto the woods, is situated on a secluded and quite position, and is the ideal place to relax inside the Natural Park of the Foreste Casentinesi, away from everyday city life and smog. Shops and supermarkets can be found in the nearby village of Subbiano which is around 10 km away, and the city of Arezzo, rich in art and cultural events is only 20 km away. While only 2,5 km away is a quaint restaurant.

The villa and the outdoor space. All around the villa a wide garden, with swimming pool (size mt. 9x4 - depth mt. 1,20), children playground, table tennis, five-a-side football playing field, Badminton field, barbecue, an ancient spring of drinking-water and a small vegetable garden, where the clients could pick up seasonal greens.
Furnishing, cosy and refined fits perfectly in with rural features of the villa. Moreover, respecting the needs of energy saving the house is equipped with solar panels.
The villa consists of 2 apartments and renting only the ground floor privacy is anyhow guaranteed and the other apartment will not be occupied by anyone.
