The Gucci Museum in Florence was recently reopened on the 10th of January 2018, under the vision of Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s current creative director, under whom the brand has been given new life and relevance. Located inside the Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence's Piazza Signoria that dates to 1337, the Gucci Museum has been open since 2011 and is spread across several floors.

It encompasses a boutique that stocks exclusive pieces, an exhibition curated by Maria Luisa Frisa and the Gucci Osteria, which is manned by the three-Michelin-starred chef, Massimo Bottura. This restaurant, alone, is reason enough to find a luxury villa in Florence and drop by the museum.

During the summer, I was incredibly sad to find the Gucci Museum in Florence closed on my one day in the city. The whole building – museum, store and cafe – was under construction and closed for a relatively long period of time; if I had done my research properly, I would have known. Yet, it was all for a good reason! Said construction has resulted in an impossibly beautiful building that is a must-see for any fashion lovers who have found a luxury villa in Florence!

On the 10th of January 2018, under the vision of Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s creative director, the museum reopened. Located inside the Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence's Piazza Signoria that dates to 1337, the Gucci Museum has been open since 2011 and is spread across several floors. Now called the Gucci Garden, it encompasses a boutique that stocks exclusive pieces, an exhibition curated by Maria Luisa Frisa, a rather special gift shop and the Gucci Osteria, which is manned by the three-Michelin-starred chef, Massimo Bottura.

Chianti is one of the most famous parts of Tuscany and a big part of the reason that people choose Tuscany as a destination in the first place, is because of her food and wine culture. Therefore, this beautiful area of rolling green hills, pretty terracotta-toned houses and hilltop villages, is the perfection choice of a place to visit as it is the biggest wine region in all of Tuscany. We have countless wonderful villas in Chianti to choose from so be sure to browse these beautiful properties. Once you have chosen the right one for you, why not plan a visit to Azienda Agricola Montefioralle?

Azienda Agricola Montefioralle is a small, family-run Chianti Classico winery, located in the small medieval hamlet of Montefioralle, close to the town of Greve in Chianti. This lovely winery is made up of only 2 hectares (5 acres) of vineyard, making them one of the smallest-sized wineries among the consortium of Chianti Classico producers.

We've been talking all about Chianti this week and, in particular, we have focused on one rather extraordinary attraction: the Chianti Cashmere Goat Farm. As mentioned in the last couple of articles, this is a small farm in the Chianti region of Tuscany that was established in 1972 by Nora Kravis. Today, it is a model for sustainable farming and small business, as well as a wonderful place to spend a day learning about sustainable farming, petting the goats, shopping incredible quality garments and enjoying rural Tuscan living. If you have found a luxury villa in Florence or a villa with pool in Siena, why not make a point to pay a visit to this fascinating farm for yourself?

Up until now, we haven't really mentioned what is arguably the best and most important part of the Chianti Cashmere Goat Farm: the goats!

 Planning a vacation in Tuscany?

A holiday rental in Tuscany can offer you a trip of a lifetime! Most people plan their vacation and assume they will be staying in hotels, and thats the end of it. Why 'vacation in Tuscany' when you can 'live in Tuscany'? Having a house to come home to at end of a day of sightseeing is infinitely more restful than dealing with loud neighbors in hotels or traffic and parking problems in the city. A lovely country house in the hills of Chianti will make you feel like you are right at home!

You will have a house to stay in while in Tuscany; a place to truly call your own. From there you can go to the local markets, pick up fresh ingredients and come home and make your own authentic Italian meal. If you are not the best cook, many villas offer a chef service upon request and some even offer cooking classes from the villa owners themselves! Learn more about how to book a villa in Tuscany.

 Apartments

If you are looking for a smaller sized group, or looking to save some money an apartment might be the right choice for you. We have plenty of apartments in some of the major cities in Tuscany. For those travelers who may prefer the city life to a rural experience, these apartments are perfect for you! They are also great if you are planning a leisurely trip focusing on one city, for instance if you want to fully explore Lucca, what better way than staying right in the city? We also have many apartments in Florence, and for your vacation you can live like a true Florentine! Apartments are also good for couples or small groups as they are typically smaller than some of the villas we offer.
