Beautiful villa on the slopes of a high hill covered with olive groves, with a beautiful view of the nearby city of Arezzo and of the valley below.
La Casa del Sole is the ideal accommodation also for those who don't want to drive a car, since the city of Arezzo has easy access with public transport and with a short walk (approx. 1,5 km) on reach shops for basic food, bar and restaurants.
Arezzo is known for its ancient and famous goldsmith's art, for the historical re-enactment of the Saracen Joust, which twice a year brings the town back to the time in which the Holy wars were fought against the formidable Saracens. Another event of international prestige is the Antiques Fair which on the first weekend of every month draws many exhibitors and a multitude of visitors to Arezzo looking for all sorts of antiquities.
At the front of the house there is a large portico, furnished with a table and chairs, which looks out onto the cool garden, where between the silver foliage of the olive trees, there is a beautiful swimming-pool (5x10m. - depth 0.80-2.20m).
The house has been well-furnished with high level interior and great attention to detail.

GROUND FLOOR: large and elegant sitting-dining room with fireplace, kitchen with wood burning oven, bathroom with shower.
FIRST FLOOR: access via internal stone staircase, two double bedrooms, twin bedroom, large bathroom with bathtub. Two bedrooms lead out onto a terrace from which one can enjoy a beautiful view of Arezzo. Possibility to add a single bed in one bedroom.

Giorgio Vasari was born in Arezzo, Tuscany in July 1511. He grew up with a keen interest in the arts and had quite a talent for painting, writing, architectural design and history research. In 1529 he travelled to Rome where he studied the masters of the Renaissance.

Work was begun in the second half of the thirteenth century and completed in the fourteenth, with a campanile added in the sixteenth century. Both exterior and interior are somewhat grave and austere, though the interior is a richer and less intensely pared back place.

The exterior is expressed with a roughly textured stone facade without any real ornamentation, while the interior is accented with niches containing fourteenth-century and Renaissance ornamentation and Gothic chapels.
