Property Description

Welcoming and original, this small ground-floor apartment is located in the guest house of an ancient water mill (approx. 20 m away) built on the ruins of a quarry. The property has been completely, carefully and tastefully renovated, and the owners are a hospitable couple that live in an independent apartment on the upper part of the guest house. The property's captivating location is in a small valley, a truly peaceful, green oasis disturbed only by the sound of the bubbling brook that runs along the property. The apartment has views of the garden and woods, and offers a private outdoor space equipped with a barbecue. 80 m away from the house there is a large lawn bordered by woods, with a beautiful swimming pool (shared with the property owners and guests of the mill). The furnishing is simple but comprehensive, in tasteful, rustic style and in perfect harmony overall. Access to the property is via a small, narrow, unpaved 1 km road.
Distances: general stores 2,5 km away (also reachable on foot via a small path), Terranuova Bracciolini with all kinds of shops 6 km, railway station (connections to Florence and Arezzo) 8,5 km away, Arezzo 30 km, Florence (airport) 56 km, Siena approx. 60 km away, San Gimignano 98 km, Perugia 119 km away, Pisa 153 km, Rome 256 km away.
At guests' disposal: private lawn in front of the house with movable barbecue, illuminated swimming pool (14 x 7m – depth from 1,4 m to 2,6m - open from 15/05 to 30/09) 80 m away from the apartment and shared with the owners and guests of the mill (house not described here). Shaded parking within the grounds.
Extra services: Baby bed available upon request (included in the price). Maid service available upon request (€ 13,-/ hour), to be paid on the spot. Pets are permitted at an additional charge of € 30,-/ stay (to be paid on the spot).

This Place is amazing. The couple that own the villa are so sweet. The location is perfectly located in Tuscany. Easy drive to Chianti and Siena. Be back for sure!

Wer Ruhe sucht und mag ist hier goldrichtig -ein kleines Paradies.
Die Gastgeber sind sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit, die Dame des Hauses spricht mehrere Sprachen -alles problemlos.
Ein Auto sollte aber schon sein

Een heerlijk verblijf bij een gastvrij gezin. Tijdens het verblijf hoorden we niets anders dan het gezoem van insecten. Heerlijk rustig. En dat terwijl je binnen 10 minuten alweer in de bewoonde wereld staat. Een auto is hier wel een must. Zeker een aanrader.

[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] A delightful stay at a hospitable family. During the stay we heard nothing but the hum of insects. Peacefully. And this while you're back in the civilized world within 10 minutes. A car is a must. Definitely recommended.

We booked 4 nights at Cupido at the end of May and the property more than lived up to expectation. We had a warm welcome from the owners, a lovely couple who live above the Cupido apartment. However the two properties feel totally separate and Cupido has plenty of privacy The setting is really peaceful and the garden is beautiful.

A car is definitely needed as there is very little in walking distance. However with tranport there is a huge amount to see within easy reach. We visited Arezzo, the nearby national park, Montepulciano, Siena, Perugia.

Warning for those plannning to cook - although there are cooking facilities there is no oven. We got caught out as we had brought food which needed to be baked!

Highly recommended.

This is a really cute little place and we really enjoyed our stay there. Small and cosy but has everything you need, and the outdoor area with pool is great. The temperature was amazing cool and comfortable inside in spite of the incredibly hot summer weather we had. The owners are wonderful, and we would definitely stay here again if we were lucky enough to come back to Tuscany!

The only negative point we encountered during our 2nd week of May (2010) stay in Cupido was the weather - just bad luck. So, a very satisfactory stay could have been fantastic if also that part would have been in our favour. For the rest, we were very happy with the accomodation, the location, facilities and nice nice landlord couple. An absolute recommendation!
