Nice farmhouse comprising 3 apartments situated in panoramic location in the Orcia Valley area, only a few kilometers from the town of Montalcino away.

This house, offering beautiful views over the surrounding landscape, has been completely restored with the original architectural features preserved and has been nicely furnished in a rustic style.

The property is part of a large and renowned farming estate producing an excellent Brunello wine. Access via dirt road (1km).

Distances: Montalcino with all kinds of shops 4 km away, Pienza 20 km, Siena 38 km, Montepulciano 50 km away, Grosseto 55 km away.

At guests’ disposal: large garden (3 hectares) with charming panoramic terrace and swimming-pool (5 x 14 m – maximum depth 1,6 m – open from 01/05 to 30/09), open-air shower (cold water), dressing room with bathroom with shower (warm water), ancient bread oven, laundry (free use). All of the apartments provide alarm system.

Extra services included in the rental price: linen change on Wednesdays.

Montalcino is a pretty hill town in Tuscany that’s famous for its production of Brunello di Montalcino red wine. This delicious drink is produced by many vineyards around the town which visitors can visit and learn more about if they come here. In 1980, it was the first Italian wine to win the prestigious DOCG Italian wine quality award. Today it is one of the most popular and expensive wine to be exported from the country!

Pici are a thick, hand-rolled kind of pasta that look a little like fatter pieces of spaghetti and originated in the Montalcino area of the province of Siena in Tuscany. Sometimes referred to as pinci, they are made from a simple dough, typically made from only flour and water, though egg is sometimes added, depending on the recipe you are following. Like with many Tuscan foods, different families have their own tricks and methods that are handed down over the years and, so, some families will use egg and others will swear against it.

When one thinks of Tuscan alcohol, wine is likely what first comes to mind and, perhaps, dessert wines such as Vin Santo. One pictures the endless vines growing in the lush countryside of Chianti and the pretty wineries that range from historic and traditional to impossibly cool and innovative and from ancient estates to contemporary architectural gems. One probably doesn't immediately think of monks and, yet, if you have found a villa in Montalcino, another of the region's most important wine zones, then you'll discover that one of the most intriguing alcoholic beverages produced in the area comes from a monastery.

Olives and the tasty oil they produce are among one of Italy’s largest exports and visitors to famous olive producing regions like Tuscany has a wonderful opportunity to watch how olives are processed into the healthy oil that Italians nickname ‘green gold’! Tourists can choose from a wealth of accommodation around some of Tuscany’s finest olive oil producing districts including; Montalcino, Lucca, Chianti and Siena.

Montalcino is a hill town in the south of Tuscany known for its famous wine, Brunello di Montalcino. One of its most distinctive features is the fortified castle that sits at the highest point of the town and overlooks everything below. Built on a pentagonal plan in 1361 and designed by the Sienese architects Mino Foresi and Domenico di Feo, the castle incorporates some of the pre-existing southern town walls (which date back as far as the 13th century), and other pre-existing structures including the keep of Santo Martini, the San Giovanni tower and an ancient basilica which now serves as its chapel. The Enoteca La Fortezza is an incredible wine shop and wine bar in the Tuscan town of Montalcino and is one of the first to have been established in the town. Founded in 1980 by Mario Pianigiani and Marzio Giannelli, it is located directly inside the main tower of the medieval fortress of Montalcino and, as a result, is not only an excellent store but is also a scenic and picturesque spot to grab a drink. Montalcino itself is famous as a wine producing town and is a perfect location for foodies and wine-lovers planning a trip to Tuscany. Mario and Marzio were ahead of the curve and established their business time when there were no more than 30 producers of Brunello di Montalcino, the town's famous wine. We had a wonderful time in this perfectly located villa with views over the Tuscan countryside and up to the beautiful Montalcino village. The pool was crystal clear and warm and the gazebo was perfect when we wanted to be out of the sun. The home was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We hope to go back with our whole family and would definitely recommend it to friends too.

The property is a beautiful old farmhouse, it is more rustic than I was expecting but was overall very nice. The views and location were unbeatable. We loved being able to go into Buonconvento for the store or up to Montalcino for lunch/dinner/wine, about the same distance to both. Also tons of wineries to try right there in the area, we did a tour one day and ventured out and then did one day stopping at two nearby wineries.

I wish we had been a little more aware of what amenities were on site - for example they ask you not to use the inside towels for the pool but there are not pool towels, or there is a BBQ grill but no charcoal or a lighter on site. While the inside of the house is rustic we found the kitchen easy enough to prepare 3 meals in and enjoyed having a large table to eat together nightly. My only other comment (and what proved the most problematic) would be that all the screens on the inside windows have either large gaps at the bottom or holes in the screens, we got ravaged by mosquitoes and ended up spraying down with bug spray nightly before going to sleep. I would definitely rent the house again if just the windows were fixed, the rest is completely tolerable. We got to chat with our neighbors in the apartment below who had been renting this house for 9 years and were prepared with charcoal (which they graciously shared), towels, pool floats, and citronella candles - apparently this is not a new problem :)

Perfect location and setting. Well furnished but could use a couple of comfortable chairs in the living room. This is our second stay and the contact instructions are wrong. If you have a problem go to the Caparzo tasting room which is well marked from Strada Brunello. The people there are very professional and helpful.

My husband and I had a wonderful week in the charming farm-
house with the most spectacular wiew to the winefields and to Montalcino- the standard of the house was very fine it was
wellfunctioning and clean as wel was the area round the house and the pool.Only we should have liked a little better and bigger frying pan to prepare the very good t-bone steaks and more.
We will especially remember the most fantastic help and kindness from the owner of the property Andrea Ciuti. The way he helped us and his hospitality in all ways cold not be emphasizid enough.
Tis wonderfull place we will surely return to and recommend.
