Beautiful restored stone farmhouse with private swimming-pool dating back to the 17th century. This property has been carefully restored preserving its ancient charm and original architectural features and has been turned into an elegant villa providing all modern comforts and offering beautiful interiors furnished with antiques. Villa Cesare is situated in quiet and panoramic location, between Florence and Siena, only a few kilometers away from the lovely town of San Gimignano and from the Chianti region. The garden surrounding the villa is well-kept and on a lower level provides a beautiful swimming-pool, a solarium, a covered terrace and a dressing room with fridge, sauna and bathroom with shower.
A nice large outdoor area furnished with a pergola is accessible from the kitchen and is ideal for al-fresco dining surrounding by the peace of the Tuscan landscape.
Distances: Poggibonsi with all kinds of shops and railway station is 3 km away, the charming small town of Barberino Val D’Elsa 6 km, San Gimignano 12 km away, Siena approx. 25 km, Florence (airport) 45 km away, Volterra 35 km, Pisa (airport) 85 km away.
At guests’ disposal: large well-stocked garden with private swimming-pool (7 x 14 m – maximum depth 3 m – open from 01/05 to 31/10), large solarium, dressing room with fridge, sauna and bathroom with shower.
The villa is provided with air-conditioning, mosquito nets on all windows and a large garage with laundry (accessible directly by the villa). Internet Wi Fi.
Extra Services included in the rental price: Baby bed, high chair and an extra bed are available on request. The rental price includes 2 hours cleaning service a day from Monday to Friday.

An example that we have been admiring lately is the extraordinary seven-bedroom and seven-bathroom Villa Staggia, located 13km (8 miles) from Poggibonsi and 24km (15 miles) from Siena in green and leafy private grounds that overlook lush fields and rolling hills so typical of this magical region.

Visit the small grim Strozzavolpe castle near Poggibonsi in the province of Siena in Tuscany and learn about the huge array of eerie myths and legends that envelop it! Visitors wishing to stay in the Poggibonsi area for a few days have a fine selection of great holiday rentals available to them.

There are tales of countless ghosts that haunt the walls of this thousand year old castle but two in particular stand out. One is the story of when the castle was being constructed. A wild animal, described as looking like a huge fox or wolf is said to have terrorised the builders and the castle owner, called Bonifacio.

He was outraged that this creature was causing such a disruption and planned to get his revenge. He strangled the creature with a rope and buried its body within the foundations of the castle. It’s believed that the castle got its name from this grisly tale as it's called Strozzavolpe and the Italian translation of fox is ‘volpe’. Many locals have claimed to have heard the howling of this doomed creature at night as it seeks revenge on Bonifacio for killing it.

Chianti is the perfect place to relax, unwind and recover. The rolling hills, blanketed in vineyards and olive groves and capped by medieval hilltowns, make for the most idyllic of settings. The tasty food and delicious wines make for happy tummies and the slow pace of life allows one to catch their breath. If you have found a luxury villa in Florence and are looking to delve into, and explore, some of the beautiful Tuscan countryside around the city and if you are interested in abandoned places and history, then you should probably head to Semifonte. Located in the province of Florence, within the modern day comune of Barberino Val d'Elsa, Semifonte was once a grand fortified city that was built during the 12th century. If was destroyed in 1202 in a siege during conflict with Florence and little remains today as the peace treaty brokered with Florence required surviving inhabitants to demolish their own city and prevented rebuilding on the site. In fact, the stones used to build Barberino Val d'Elsa were taken from the destroyed city and repurposed, leaving very little of the city behind today.

I just have one word for this trip, and it is FANTASTICO. We loved the
villa and it's surroundings. What you see on your website, is exactly
what you get, and that is a lot to say about
how reliable your organization is. Villa Cesare was very well situated
and gave us easy access to all surrounding areas in the Tuscany
Valley. We enjoyed going for supper in
Bordellino at a delicious outdoor pizzeria called Archibonsi. Although
we liked to prepare our meals since this was a family vacation. 6
adults and one 18 month old grandchild, we were able to
enjoy every meal outside just a few steps from the kitchen. The view
from the Villa is breathtaking, the pool is magnificient and we
gathered there every evening for a swim and for some R & R.
The rooms are quite confortable and the bathrooms are spacious. The
owner and Martha the helping lady, were on hands ,to make sure that
everything was alright. All in all, we loved every minute
of this vacation, and our family will long remember the spirit and
cherished moments that surrounded us during our stay at Villa Cesare.
