Amazing property situated in quiet and panoramic location in the surrounding of the charming medieval town of San Gimignano. This property, offering enchanting views over the Tuscan landscape, has been recently and carefully restored preserving its original architectural features and its ancient charm. The interiors are tastefully furnished and decorated with beautiful pieces, the outside areas, affording extensive views over San Gimignano towers, are spacious and very well-kept and offer the possibility of enjoying the beauty and the tranquility of the surrounding landscape. The property comprises a main building and some annexes all of which have been turned into 6 comfortable and beautiful apartments (one of which is occupied by the owners) and 5 bedrooms. The owners of this property also run a family farming estate producing an excellent wine available for clients to tasted and purchased.
The access to the property is via an unpaved but well-maintained road.
Distances: San Gimignano with all kinds of shops only 1,2 km away, Siena 35 km, Florence 45 km away, Volterra 30 km, Pisa (airport) approx. 80 km away.
At guests’ disposal: large furnished outdoor areas, beautiful swimming-pool (7 x 14 m – min. depth 1 m – max. depth 2 m – open from 01/05 to 30/09) with solarium set in panoramic location. Parking within the grounds.
Extra services to be paid on site: Maid service available by arrangement (€ 15,- / per hour). On request it is possible to arrange daily breakfast (served on a beautiful panoramic terrace during summer and in a lovely breakfast room in winter). Wine tasting and guided tours of the farming estate can be organized on request. Common washing machine available for the apartments 2, 3 and 5 at € 5,- per wash. Baby bed available at € 30,- / per week.

The Duomo di San Gimignano, also known as Collegiata di Santa Maria Assunta (Collegiate Church of the Assumption of Mary),is a Roman Catholic Collegiate Church and the cathedral of San Gimignano. It is most famous for its incredible murals and paintings, which include works of famous artists such as Taddeo di Bartolo, Domenico Ghirlandaio and Lippo Memmi. In fact, the building is only one of many celebrated buildings that make up the ‘Historic Centre of San Gimignano’, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Just find a luxury villa in San Gimignano and visit this amazing cathedral and the astounding historic centre in which it is located. There are few towns so picture-perfect as this and it is well worth exploring.

A while ago our booking team set off for a visit to the Podere Lo Spadino, a new Tuscan country house close to San Gimignano and one of the favorites of our guests!

A visit to this house is a visit to the Montagnani Family. Because we must tell you that this house was born from an idea, a difficult but a strongly desired wish that the owner Maris had since he was young: his idea to build a house entirely with his own strength and own hands.

According to several researches Maris made and in analyzing some manuscripts left by his ancestors, the Montagnani Family has lived some centuries on the territory where the province of Florence borders the province of Siena, close to San Gimignano. The characteristic symbols of this area are part of the family's coat of arms which can be found in the medieval Town Hall in Certaldo.

4. Cosimo

Cosimo is a small, elegant and perfectly formed apartment, built for two, located in the heart of Florence. 5. Bolgheri

Bolgheri is a wine area located in the Province of Livorno that has become internationally known since 1974, when, in an event organised by Decanter, a 6-year-old Sassicaia won over an assortment of Bordeaux wines.

If you feel like eating the best ice-cream in the world, you're going to need to find a luxury villa in San Gimignano. Located in the central Piazza della Cisterna, known all over the world and visited by a large number of celebrities is the Gelateria Dondoli or Gelateria di Piazza. The gelateria has won countless awards, invents flavour combinations that attract gourmet-lovers to the town on a regular basis and has made it World Champion on two occasions. Arguably, this is one of the best places in the entire world to try some ice-cream and, particularly in a land known for its ice-cream, this is no small claim.

We enjoyed a full week with friends at Il Sogno during September of 2010. Our apartment was lovely and spacious with stunning views of the villa and the Tuscan hills from every window. We cooked in the well-appointed kitchen, dined and read outside on our private patio, and swam in the pool that overlooks the grapevines. Several mornings, we joined the bed & breakfast guests for the morning meal, and one day sat on an outside terrace for an amazing wine-tasting lunch. We walked every day on the quiet back road to nearby San Gimignano, where there is much history, many shops and incredible food.
The young owners of Il Sogno were gracious and welcoming. We had many conversations with them as we learned about the restoration of the property, the extensive remodeling of the buildings, and the grape and olive harvest. They truly shared their dream with us.

What a stunning place! We were a little bit apprehensive about this reservation as we've not used the site before but we were pleasantly surpised by this villa; it was beautifully decorated and clean, very close to town (1km walking), lovely people who were very welcoming and had a panoramic view of the hills. We will definitely be going back there and would recommend this to anybody who's looking for a quiet, peaceful spot in one of the most beautiful settings in Tuscany.

Guardastelle is a beautiful and well-appointed property in an amazing location. Susanna - the owner - was very friendly and acommodating. The property has a small bed and breakfast inn as well as several apartments. We stayed in one of the apartments and absolutely loved it. Guardastelle also has wine and olive oil tasting. The property is a short walk (15 min) or drive (3 min) away from the incredibly beautiful town of San Gimignano, with many excellent restaurants and ceramics shops. It's also close to wine areas of Chianti and Montalcino for those interested in tasting wine, and is about an hour away from Siena and Florence. Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable; we will definitely go back.
