Guest Reviews for Villa Leonardo

Beautiful villa in a wonderful location. Eight of us had a really enjoyable stay. Close to Empoli and other small places with wonderful restaurants and easy to catch the train to Florence for example.
Our only concerns were that there wasn’t enough hot water at any time for showers and we had to buy a kettle to boil water. Also one of the beds had a spring poking through which was a bit uncomfortable for the occupant.

the house is perfect, vert spacious, cozy and comfortable. the area around the house is beautiful, offering plenty of amazing views. the pool is great and the fact that it is private also benefits for the guests. the other pool - shared one - is also very nice and provides tremendous view for the valley beneath. strongly recommend this place.

Nice villa, some issues when we arrived—> No hot water, one of the toilets was leaking, and one toilet would not flush. The hot water issue and the leaking toilet was fixed within three hours of arriving. They never fixed the toilet that would not flush the entire week of our stay. When checking out we were charged 60 Euros per day for heat, but our contract stated 50 Euros per day. The Villa owner honored the 50 E per day.

We were delighted to find the Villa as lovely as the pictures we had seen on the web. Our only disappointment was finding the coffee pot didn’t work, however it was replaced same day, amazing. Our landlord was readily available and extremely pleasant. We toured his winery and purchased several bottles of wine from his as the wine was really good. The bedrooms were all clean, and comfortable. We were lucky to find a Villa with 5 bedrooms/with baths. Kitchen well equipped and we enjoyed several meals in dining room. If there could be a suggestion it would be the couch’s in the living room could use a little more support. All in all we loved this Villa and we will return. Lorenzo thank you and Franchesca for a wonderful stay.

We loved the villa and Lorenzo. Our arrival was rather late and the owners picked up groceries for us to get through the next day. The grounds are beautiful and the infinity swimming pool overlooked majestic mountains and a medieval town. Empoli is just a 5 minute ride away with access to the train and an amazing market on Thursday. The town on Vinci is about 10 minutes in the other direction with the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum, which we didn't have a chance to visit.

What a beautiful property! Outstanding!! The pictures just don't do it justice. The remote location could possibly be a detraction to some, but we all loved it! Remote, bucolic, in the middle of vineyards and olive groves, the occasional sheep herd wandering by - who could ask for better from Tuscany? It is close enough to a town (Vinci) for all the necessities - good restaurants, wineries, groceries (like the locals, not a supermarket!) and the Vinci museum was certainly a destination stop. Empoli is close enough as well, with more shopping opportunities and variety. Best of both worlds!
Plenty of room for 3 - 5 couples, with opportunities for even bigger crowds (or receptions) with HUGE common spaces: kitchen and dining table and 2 living areas.
The new infinity pool - not pictured on the listing yet, was breath-taking - a total surprise. Though still not finished, it was functional, and when landscaping and lighting are completed, will be an outstanding feature of this property, only excelled by, yet complimenting the views.
The winery on site (by owner) is a must see as well - also a surprise!
The kitchen itself was in keeping with the age of the property - a little dated and under-served, adequate for our needs, but could sue some modernization. in the absence of an espresso machine, a new American-style coffee pot would go a long way.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Leonardo. We were a party of seven, and there were more than enough space and comfort for us. The location was perfect, a very tranquil place but still close to services and shops. The villa and the surroundings matched the description given, and were beautiful and quite well maintained. The owners were very friendly, even though communication in other languages than Italian was a bit challenging. However, it was easily solved by translation over the phone. The kitchen appliances were a bit old, and some malfunctioned, probably due to the chalky tap water, but when mentioning this to the owners they immediately remedied the problem (and came with a new coffee maker and complimentary wine bottles from their own vineyard). One evening we booked the dinner at the villa, and it was the owners cooking and serving for us. The food was delicious and the experience was charming. Overall we would recommend Villa Leonardo for anyone who is looking for a Tuscan holiday out in the countryside.

An absolutely wonderful villa with incredible panoramic views of vineyards, fields of sunflowers, mountains, and other villas. We took advantage of a driver who took us to Chianti wineries - a must! We also took advantage of an authentic dinner at the house w/the villa's chef - fabulous!

The only suggestion I would have is… invest in floor fans. It was 102-104 with no AC in the main rooms. The bedrooms did have individual ACs so sleeping was great, but when it was too hot to be outside, it was hotter in the house. Would very much recommend this villa!!!

The villa was terrific and it was wonderful to have a swimming pool available. I would suggest having toilet paper and soap available for guests. In addition a few of the electrical sockets in the kitchen were not working. A few added touches as these would enhance this beautiful site
