The Experience
This beautiful farmhouse is located in a very quiet and secluded position on the Castello di Volpaia estate, where we have successfully been renting two other properties, La Pozza and Il Casetto for many years. Guests can enjoy incredible views from the covered terrace, which is furnished for outdoor eating and is also very practical for families as it overlooks the pool, allowing parents to relax while keeping an eye on the pool area. The fortified hamlet of Volpaia offers two nice restaurants, one of which owned by the estate. The English speaking estate staff can organize cooking lessons, visits to the wine cellars and will be glad to assist guests during their stay.
After arriving you will be greeted by the owner or manager where you’ll find a beautiful clean well-maintained property with views of the hills perfect for a splendid holiday in Tuscany. In 1996 we moved to the Crete Senesi and we fell in love with this farmhouse Etruscan origins, medieval mill, peace and tranquillity. That’s why we decided to share it with our guests and their four-legged friends.
The farm keeps the whole family busy: Alessandro (biologist, nature guide and Sommelier), Elisa who looks after the administration, Mauro and Paola, retired but full time busy on the farm. And we hope that in the future even Emma and Guido will give us a helping hand.
We produce vegetables and fruit, olive oil and truffles from organic agriculture.
For our guests we organize a rich programme of initiatives discovering the colours and flavours of the Crete, wine tasting in our cosy winery and excursions by bike guided by Alessandro who is fond of cycling.
