The estate is ideal for hosting large family reunions, group celebrations, and private events, combining seclusion with proximity to some of the most prestigious destinations in Tuscany. The property benefits from a generous yard spanning approximately 4 hectares, complete with terracotta-paved areas, lawns adorned with tall trees, olive trees, fruit trees, and aromatic herb bushes. A non-heated swimming pool set within the parkland offers a refreshing retreat during the warmer months. Outdoors
The outdoor spaces of Borgo Gallinaio are as generous as they are beautiful, offering a variety of settings for relaxation, dining, and recreation. The park pertaining to the borgo extends for approximately 4 hectares and encompasses terracotta-paved areas furnished with seats and small tables, expansive lawns embellished with tall trees, olive and fruit trees, and dense clusters of aromatic herbs. In the central courtyard, which serves as the social heart of the property, a dedicated outdoor dining area has been arranged with tables and chairs, accompanied by a wood-fired oven and barbecue, making it an ideal setting for convivial gatherings. A large loggia situated a short distance from the courtyard and the terrace on the first floor of the main house provide perfect spaces for relaxation, where guests can sit and take in the sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Beyond the borgo itself, the wider estate encompasses 48 hectares of land distributed among extensive woodland, vast arable fields, meadows, and a large olive grove, all of which can be freely explored on foot or used for sporting activities. The non-heated swimming pool is located in the section of the park that borders the woodland and is surrounded by tall, shady trees. It can be reached from the courtyard via an internal path of approximately 350 metres. Rectangular in shape and measuring 8 by 10 metres with a constant depth of 1.40 metres, the pool is lined in PVC and bordered by terracotta paving. It is equipped with chlorine purification, a metal ladder for water access, and internal lighting that also illuminates the surrounding area. The adjacent sunbathing lawn is furnished with umbrellas, sunbeds, and a cold-water shower. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October. Please be aware that the photographs of the property were taken in spring, and therefore the flowering and the colours of the garden grass may differ at the time of your arrival.
Unit Layout
Borgo Gallinaio accommodates a maximum of 32 guests across 16 spacious bedrooms and 16 private bathrooms, distributed between a main body and a separate annex arranged around a central courtyard. The complex covers a total of approximately 1,200 square metres and follows the historically defined structure of a courtyard house. The main body is organised over 3 floors. On the ground floor, the main entrance from the courtyard opens into a large living room with a sofa and television area. A short corridor leads to the dining room, which connects to the professional kitchen; the kitchen in turn opens through a French window onto the courtyard dining area and is served by a ground-floor service bathroom. The ground floor also accommodates 3 double bedrooms, 2 of which feature divisible beds, each with a private ensuite bathroom with shower. An external staircase beside the main entrance leads to the first floor, where a furnished terrace with tables precedes a living room with fireplace and 6 bedrooms: 1 double with ensuite bathroom featuring both a shower and a bathtub, 1 twin room with joinable beds served by a bathroom with bathtub and shower, and 4 double bedrooms, 2 of which have divisible beds, each with an ensuite bathroom with shower. The second floor, accessed from the first-floor corridor via a spiral staircase, contains 1 double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The annex, located directly opposite the main building, consists of 2 floors that are not internally connected to one another. On the ground floor, 3 double bedrooms each have an ensuite bathroom with shower and independent external access, with no internal communication between them. 2 external staircases on the front façade lead to the first floor: the first staircase leads to 1 double bedroom with a divisible bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower; the second staircase leads to a landing giving access to 2 independent bedrooms, both with divisible beds, one of which has an ensuite bathroom with shower and bathtub, and the other an ensuite bathroom with shower. The laundry is housed in a separate external room located behind the kitchen.

Lovingly restored by its current owners, who reside discreetly on the upper floor for short periods only, the villa combines refined interiors with an extraordinary natural setting surrounded by centuries-old holm oaks, oaks, and chestnut trees. Guests have access to a fully equipped one-hectare private park, a dedicated parking area located just past the entrance gate to the property, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the accommodation. The grounds of Villa Rinaldi are nothing short of extraordinary, extending across a fully fenced one-hectare park that wraps around the rear of the building and is framed along its perimeter by centuries-old oak trees and lush, refreshing woodland vegetation. The garden is a living tapestry of seasonal blooms and wild flora, including junipers, honeysuckles, strawberry trees, ferns, cyclamens, violets, hellebores, strawberries, and wild blackberries, all of which can be discovered simply by strolling around the property. A vegetable garden with seasonal vegetables and aromatic herbs is also available for guests to enjoy. Throughout the park, various seating areas equipped with chairs and tables invite relaxation and convivial gatherings, while a convenient outdoor dining area is positioned directly at the living room exit, creating a seamless flow between interior and exterior living. Please note that the photographs of the property were taken in spring, and therefore the blossoming of flowers and the colour of the garden grass may differ at the time of your arrival.
The non-heated swimming pool is set in the most private area of the property, on a lower terrace approximately 20 metres from the villa, reached via a few steps or along a dedicated path. Rectangular in shape and measuring 4 x 8 metres, with a depth ranging from 1.50 to 1.70 metres, the pool features submerged entry steps, a PVC lining, a stone-paved border, internal spotlights, salt-based water purification, and a waterproof cover for overnight use. The surrounding sunbathing area is furnished with a large umbrella, small tables, sofas, and sunbeds, as well as a cold-water shower. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October.

Hospitality, Osteria "Gentile" with veg garden, Cooking School and a stunning infinity pool overlooking the valley: il Canto del Maggio, owned by Simona and her family, isn’t just a place to sleep — it’s a place where you meet a family deeply rooted in this land and in its rhythms.
Here guests are welcomed into six charming units that reflect a rare and authentic form of hospitality: the Albergo diffuso—literally, a ‘scattered hotel’. Developed in Italy, this model revitalizes once-abandoned villages by blending comfort with local tradition in a truly immersive experience- in fact the "borgo" is a shared community between locals that live here permanently, and travelers that was born in the late 1980's.
Our collaboration with this placa was born to promote a network of local chefs, farmers, winemakers, guides, and hospitality professionals — all working together to create meaningful moments that we hope will make your stay one to remember.
My team (I am Tuscany) and I will take care of the accommodation side of your experience — from the moment you book to the day you arrive. Before your stay, we’ll coordinate with you to plan any extra services or personalized experiences, so everything is ready and tailored to your needs before you arrive.
Simona, the soul of this place, will welcome you into her world: her home, her kitchen, around her table, or walking through the vegetable garden — the orto. On the plate, a cuisine that arises spontaneously: the garden decides the menu, and we simply follow its lead.
Together, we can plan special dinners in the garden or by the pool, enjoy breakfast on the terrace or your private patio, and explore much more — from local farmers’ markets and tastings to our favorite go-to places in the area.

Nice property with pool situated near the beautiful medieval hamlet of San Donato in Poggio, half-way between Florence and Siena. This property comprises 2 comfortable apartments all of which recently restored and tastefully furnished. Beautiful vineyards and olive groves surround the estate and produce excellent Chianti Classico wine and olive oil (available for the clients to be tasted and purchased). This property is situated among green hills but at the same time it is very close to the small town of San Donato (walking distance) offering nice restaurants, pizzerias and all main services.
The access to the property is via an unpaved but well-maintained road suitable for any kind of car.
Distances: San Donato in Poggio with all kinds of shops 500 m away, Greve in Chianti 15 km, the charming medieval town of San Gimignano 18 km, Florence 20 km, Siena 35 km away, Pisa (airport) 95 km away, Arezzo approx. 100 km, Cortona 140 km away. Rome is approx. 300 km away.
