Very Good 4 /5We spent a delightful week in April 2014 at Borgovallesanta in Duddova Italy. We arrived in the afternoon. The directions given were a bit vague but soon realized to stop in the restaurant for help finding our villa. We were greeted by Leonardo, the owner, whose family runs the restaurant. We rented the two bedroom L'Uliveta apartment. The furnishings were charming and the beds quite comfortable. The kitchen was small and required unplugging one appliance in order to use another but we were not there to cook. There were dishes and pots provided so you could cook if you wanted. Our favorite spot was breakfast on the little balcony. We were out touring late most days so we only had one chance to have dinner at the restaurant one night. The dinner was delicious. Our one regret was our failing ability to speak Italian. I am sure Leonardo’s father has a wealth of information on the history of the village of Duddova. The village is beautiful. Very few buildings make up the town. There was some sort of restoration going on at the church. Since it was April the pool was closed so I can’t comment on that.
General thoughts on the location- our GPS took us up this narrow road going for several miles. On our first trip we both were worried that the location may not have been the best as a home base for touring. We later stumbled on a better route. This made the location fine for us for seeing several parts of Tuscany and even Umbria.
Personal thoughts on the location – we are indebted to Leonardo for his help. After checking in with him and finding our villa we discovered our rental car wouldn’t start. He aided us by contacting the rental car company (won’t use budget again!) finding us someone to tow the car and transport us back to pick up a new car.
Overall we had a wonderful stay at L'Uliveta.Would you recommend this property to a friend? Yes
