Property Description

Casa San Martino is an old farmhouse situated a short distance from Castiglion Fiorentino, a lively town with shops and services of all kinds, and where throughout the year you can attend folkloristic, historical and artistic events. Castiglion Fiorentino will be the destination for your evenings in some typical restaurant, for a glass of wine or just for a walk in the cool of the summer nights in the ancient stone alleys.
The apartment, comfortable and well furnished, is situated on the first floor of the farmhouse and has a cosy private staircase leading down to the garden from the pool side. The owners live on the ground floor and with their discreet presence will be a sure reference point for any information or need.
All around the farmhouse is the certified organic farm where they produce seasonal vegetables and excellent wine and extra virgin olive oil that you can taste and buy on site. It will be a pleasure, if you wish, to have fresh organic vegetables for your dinners to accompany the famous Chianina meat which can be easily purchased in the butchers' shops and supermarkets of the village.
In the large garden you will find a wooden gazebo furnished with table and chairs for outdoor dining, barbecue, children's playground, five-a-side football pitch and a large swimming pool (size 6 x 12 m, depth 1.20 - 2.20 m) which is occasionally used by the owners.
The view from the garden is something you will remember. From here you can admire the beautiful Montecchio Castle, which is still inhabited in parts, and still has its walls and high tower intact and is situated on the hill overlooking the farmhouse. Every time you look at the castle it will be like being catapulted, for a moment, into another era.
On request, the owner can prepare typical Tuscan breakfasts and dinners.

Very friendly hosts, lovely house and especially the pool area is fantastic. the soccer area is near the pool. view on the castle on the hill which is lighted at evening. Also the pool and garden house has nice lights in the evening

Nous avons passé 1 semaine dans ce gîte. Tout était propre à notre arrivée et nous avons été très bien reçu. La maison est bien équipée et les pièces sont spacieuses. La piscine est magnifique et toujours très propre, le couvert extérieur est suffisamment grand pour manger à l'ombre. Les propriétaires sont discrets et à l'écoute de nos besoins. A recommander. Fidèle à la description sur le site. Très bonne situation pour les visites (Arezzo, Cortone, Pérouse, Sienne ...). Magasins à proximité (env 5 mintutes en voiture)
Accueil très chaleureux de la part des propriétaires. La piscine et le jardin sont très agréables. Possibilité de manger à l'extérieur à l'abri du soleil. Chambres confortables, 2 salles de bain très bien aménagées,une salle à manger sobre mais pratique. Nous y avons passé 2 très belles semaines.

Stunning location nestled in the Tuscan countryside. Well situated for exploring many major cities including Sienna, Pisa, Rome, Florence, Assisi. Very friendly and welcoming family and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. Spoilt us with much delicious fresh organic farm produce. Children loved the pool and gardens and exploring the farm.
