Property Description

Antica Fortezza is just 10 minutes from Siena. Is the perfect place to choose if you want to enjoy Siena (frequent buses to the center) without missing the best part of Tuscany: its beautiful countryside!
A 220 hectares farm, we can accommodate up to 30 people, and can be a gorgeous location for weddings.
The bedrooms in B&B are located in the ancient fortress and the apartment TOWER and SERRAVALLE in the typical farmhouse near it and together share the pool.
The fortress dating back to the 14th Century became a luxurious Villa in the 18th Century and, together with the farmhouses, rentable daily or weekly, it overlooks the green beautiful valley of our Farm.
Distances:
Little pretty village with shops and restaurant within walking distance; we rent bikes and we are a good starting point to visit the Montagnola senese and Val di Merse areas by bike.
San Rocco a Pilli with all kind of shops at 500 mts.
Bus stop at 50 mts.
Horse riding at 2 km.
Siena at 9 km.
Since 18th century the Fortress has been owned by our family and the Villa still preserves intact the original furniture and paintings.
You can easily visit Siena and from here you can start wine or sight-seeing tours to Montalcino, San Gimignano, San Galgano, Volterra, Pienza, Montepulciano, Chianti.
At guests' disposal:
Circular swimmingpool with diameter of 6 m, deep 1,40 m open from 30 May to 30 September.
Wi-Fi internet connection available free of charge.
There are big outdoor areas where guests can walk, barbecue, relax, and drink our great wine.
We speak English and French and are happy to welcome and help all travellers.
Great breakfast is served in the morning!
At the Farm we organize once in a while music events and other art performances.

We stayed in Europe one month of which 1 week was in France and 3 weeks in Itay. We were scheduled to stay at Antica Fortezza for 5 days, but extended it 2 added days. Great location to San Rocco, which has a great super market and Wednesday market. It is a 5 minute walk to the village. Bus to Siena is in San Rocco and takes just 20 minutes (11 km). Buses travel to Siena every hour. The rooms at Antica Fortezza were clean and comfortable. They have a main kitchen for anyone to use and we used their refrigerator for our storage. Anna Marie is in charge and is an excellent wealth of information for help. Breakfast was very good and is included in the stay. Alot of history at the villa and we enjoyed reading books, taking bus rides to Siena and Montgeriggioni. The villa proved to have the character we needed to absorb the culture of Italy's countryside and get away from commerization/tourism. We really enjoyed our stay.
