Il Poggiarone is a beautiful farmhouse with typical Tuscan architecture, located in a very panoramic position, and is the ideal destination for those who are looking for a holiday among art, history and nature. The beautiful villa is close to the owner's house and is part of a farm which stretches for many hectares in the hills of Montepulciano.

Montepulciano is considered to be the Pearl of the 16th century, with its palaces and churches representing the highest expression of Renaissance architecture. We recommend a day's sightseeing in Montepulciano, to be completed with a wine tasting in one of the cellars where Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is produced.

When you are not touring the hills of southern Tuscany visiting enchanting villages and cities of art, you can relax in the large garden admiring the view and take a dip in the swimming pool (fenced, size 6 x 12 m - depth 1,50 – 1,80 m - open from 01st May to 30th September). In front of the kitchen on the ground floor there is a table with chairs and a barbecue where you can spend cheerful evenings in the company of family and friends.
Villa il Poggiarone is divided into three apartments with independent entrances and offers flexibility for families with children and groups of friends who decide to spend their holidays together, while maintaining a certain autonomy.

Interior Description

GROUND FLOOR: large and light sitting room with kitchenette, two double bedrooms, twin bedroom, two bathrooms with showers one of which is wheelchair accessible.
FIRST FLOOR: with access to the rear of the house, going up four steps you find on one side: sitting room with kitchenette and double sofa bed, double bedroom, bathroom with shower; on the other side: sitting room with kitchenette, bathroom with bath, double bedroom with bathroom with shower, twin bedroom with access via characteristic staircase to typical tower where there is a double bed. The two floors have no internal connections.

Spend A Day Touring The Picturesque Town Of Montefollonico

A valuable addition to your Tuscan holiday would be a trip to the stunning Orange Flag awarded town of Montefollonico! It sits on a forested hill between Val di Chiana and Val d’Orcia.

The town is thought to have received its name by the Romans who called the cloth weavers of the area ‘fullones’. If you have heard of the "Palio di Siena" then brace yourselves for this twist on the traditional horse race between the "Contrade".
The Palio dei Somari is a race held for the prize of the "Palio" in which the Saint that inspired it (St.Joseph) is depicted. Every year the Palio can change hands from one district to another, depending on the champion, however, there is one difference between this race and that of Siena. Horses are not used in the race at all. Instead, the people race on donkeys. Yes, you did read that correctly.

Our Villa Spotlight is turning once again to the fair city of Montepulciano, well known for its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. We are looking at the Via Della Stella (Montepulciano 850) (no longer available), a gorgeous three unit farmhouse lies about 15km from the town center of Montepulciano. The smaller brick cottage dates back to the 18th century, while the farmhouse was built in the early 20th century. Both buildings have been renovated and meet modern expectations. The villa ii poggiarone Was the perfect Location to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday what's six other couples I can't imagine a better location in Central Tuscany to explore from I lost count of the number of hilltop villages we visited.
nearby Montepoluciano is charming.
riding E-bikes through the countryside was a blast.
the views from the villa are stunning especially the sun setting on Montepoluciano with the ever-changing light you never get tired of looking over the hills the kitchen is nicely equipped with everything you need We even had a cooking class at the villla that was great fun we spent most of the time outside wes aroundr the picnic table with a very solid Covering over it.
the friendly Farm kitties and occasional dog that would visit when the sun went down added to the ambience I can't imagine I better arrangement for a group of this size.
I would return in a heartbeat
Two things to note getting up the steps to the very upstairs bedroom is a head knocker if you're over 6 feet tall I would save the penthouse for the kids or short people.
Initially finding the villa can be a challenge even with navigation better signage on the gravel roads approaching the villa would help
