Monticiano village, a classical medieval hamlet is only 5 minutes' walk away. It offers all necessarie amenities such as affordable restaurants serving traditional earthy Tuscan cuisine, a couple of bars, a small wine shop, a Pharmacy, the Post Office and two Banks with ATM' s.
A couple of buses go to Siena daily but a car is recommended.
The via Francigena, the ancient road between Rome and Canterbury runs here.
Beautiful San Galgano Abbey which became internationally known after Andreij Tarkovskij’s movie ‘Nostagia’ was shot here is only 07 Km away.
