Nice complex comprising 2 small independent stone villas which have been recently restored. This property is situated in panoramic location on the hills surrounding the beautiful medieval town of Cortona which is only 10 km away. Both villas offer comfortable interiors furnished in a rustic style and provide a private furnished outdoor area. Each of the two villas enjoy use of a private swimming-pool.
A secondary road connecting the small villages on the hills surrounding Cortona passes nearby.
Distances: Portole with a food shops and a restaurant 500 m away, Cortona with all kinds of shops 9 km, Lake Trasimeno approx. 20 km away, Città di Castello 30 km away. Arezzo 35 km away.
At guests’ disposal: private equipped outdoor area for each apartment, private swimming-pool for Portole 1 (10 x 5 m – maximum depth 2,45 m – open from 01/05 to 30/09) and for Portole 2 (8 x 4 m - maximum depth 1,40 m - open from 01/05 to 30/09 - available starting from 2009), barbecue, playground for children. Parking within the grounds. All 2 apartments are provided with a laundry and with air-conditioning.

Even more beautiful than it looked in the pics. Villa is superbly equipped, especially round the pool. Owner was wonderfully welcoming; home baked goodies on arrival, fresh eggs, veg & wine midweek... all delicious. Would LOVE to come again some time. Thank you VERY much.

What a wonderful place! We were a family (kids 6 and 8 years old) and enjoyed the villa very much. A lot of room, everything was very tidy and the garden well kept. As the villa is 800m above the sea it got quite cold in the evening which was suprise for us. Also the water in the swimming pool was cold. On the other side it didn't get too cold during the day which was good. Nice hiking trails leaving nearby. And the pizzeria couple of kilometres down is really recommendable.

Portole 2 is een uitstekend vakantiehuis. Van alle gemakken voorzien. Keurig schoon en netjes. De eigenaar/contactpersoon was zeer behulpzaam en aardig. Portole 2 is zeer rustig gelegen ongeveer 7 kilometer bergopwaarts van Cortona. Wie van rust houdt, in het bezit is van een auto en goed ter been is kan hier prima vakantie houden.

This extremely beautiful and unique property is about as close to heaven as you can get in Tuscany. Literally. It, and a companion house, are on a mountaintop about five miles from the stunning walled city of Cortona. You will never have a better view from a swimming pool! The owners are lovely people. In this small town is a wonderful restaurant, the Albergo, with a very accommodating owner, and an amazing rosemary steak dish, among other delights. If you want to be in the center of things, don't come here. Otherwise, you'll find this comfortable, modern home unforgettable. Barry B.- Olney, Maryland.

We had a lovely stay at the villa in Portole. It was just a short drive up the mountain from Cortona. The view was beautiful. The home was very comfortable and the owner was super nice and accomodating. She greeted us with cookies and a bottle of her own wine. We managed to communicate despite the language barrier. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Portole 2 is a lovely villa. beautifully decorated and maintained with everything you can ask for. The views from the property are spectacular and it is very remote. The pool is lovely but a bit of a climb up about 50 steps but its worth it for the view at the top. We were greeted at the villa with cakes and later on in the week we were given eggs, tomatoes and wine as a gift from the owner. A very peaceful getaway which is only a short, if very windy drive from Cortona. A car is essential here!! A lovely property in a superb location. Spotlessly clean too!!
