Beautiful hamlet situated in quiet and panoramic location on a 300-hectare estate surrounded by vineyards and olive grove, near the charming town of San Gimignano. This property comprises several buildings, once owned by noble Tuscan families, which have been recently restored preserving their original architectural features and their ancient charm. All of the 16 apartments of the estate offer nice interiors furnished with antiques dating back to ‘700 and ‘800 and are provided with a personal equipped outside area. A beautiful and well-kept garden with splendid views over the Tuscan landscape surrounds this charming hamlet.
The access to Pancole is via an unpaved but well-maintained road.
Distances: San Gimignano with all kinds of shops 5 km away, Certaldo 6 km, Siena approx. 40 km, Florence 55 km away.
At guests’ disposal: large furnished garden with swimming-pool (7 x 14 m – maximum depth 1,5 m – open from 23/04 to 10/10) set in panoramic location, barbecue, playground for children. Laundry service and iron available upon request. All of the apartments are provided with air conditioning. A nice restaurant (run by the owners) offering excellent local recipes is available during the summer months. Parking within the grounds.
Extra services to be paid on site: maid service available by arrangement (€ 18,- / per hour). Possibility of requesting an extra bed (€ 50,- / per week) or a baby bed (€ 20,- / per week). Laundry service: €13,- / per washing.
On request the owners can arrange cooking or ceramic classes (minimum 5 people), dinners, wine tasting, horse-back riding, walks in the beautiful surrounding area, air-balloon tours.
The property also offers large outdoor and indoor areas which offer an ideal location for wedding ceremonies and special events.

Poggetto di Montese is just outside of San Gimignano, in fact from the gardens you can see the towers that helped make the city so famous!

Poggetto di Montese, like some of our other villas, is surrounded by expansive olive groves and vineyards.

The grounds around the house have a gorgeous and well kept garden that provides a pleasant place to spend your evenings, sitting on the patio under the pergola sipping wine. The house itself is a typical country house made of stone, and restored for modern luxuries.

There is no shortage of things to see and do and incredible attractions in Tuscany but there are seven designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the region: the historic centre of Florence (initiated in 1982); the Cathedral square of Pisa (1987); the historical centre of San Gimignano (1990); the historical centre of Siena (1995); the historical centre of Pienza (1996); the Val d'Orcia (2004), and the Medici Villas and Gardens (2013).

3. The Historical Centre of San Gimignano

Tuscany is famous for her rolling green hills, vineyards, sleepy villages, medieval hilltowns and cultured cities. The views over this distinctive countryside adorn endless postcards, lockscreens, books and walls across the world and, if you are planning a trip to Tuscany, you probably want to finally see them with your own eyes. Of course, there are some spots in the region that are particularly good for taking these views in and, as such, we have compiled a list of some of the best views in Tuscany to help you out. Here are some more of them!

3. San Gimignano

The medieval town of San Gimignano is famous for its towers, built in Medieval and Renaissance times by wealthy families, adjacent to their homes, to show off their wealth and compete with each other.

Discover The Vernaccia Di San Gimignano Wine Experience

The Vernaccia is one of the oldest indigenous vine varieties in Italy and also refers to a wine area that is intrinsically tied to the history of San Gimignano. Brought to the area from Liguria in the 1200s by Vieri de' Bardi and with exact origins unknown, it was an incredibly famous and popular wine in the Middle Ages but, so tied to the fate of the city as it was, it declined in prestige and importance as the city itself became less important. That is, however, until the second half of the 20th century when it was rediscovered by local winemakers who breathed new life into the wine and got it to DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) status in 1966. In fact, it was the first Italian wine ever to get this label and then went on to obtain the DOCG quality assurance in 1993.

Today, Vernaccia vineyards cover over 768 hectares, which are tended by 177 winemakers, producing around 4 million litres (or approximately 5 million bottles) of wine per annum. The Strada del Vino Vernaccia di San Gimignano is a non-profit association that was founded in 1999 in order to promote the local wine-producing area and are also in charge of managing the Wine Museum in Villa della Rocca and it is precisely this museum that makes a vacation rental in San Gimignano such an excellent holiday destination in Tuscany for wine-lovers. For the most perfect setting to sip, savour and learn, this pretty city is hard to beat and the museum means you have wonderful resources right at your fingertips.

If you feel like eating the best ice-cream in the world, you're going to need to find a luxury villa in San Gimignano. Located in the central Piazza della Cisterna, known all over the world and visited by a large number of celebrities is the Gelateria Dondoli or Gelateria di Piazza. The gelateria has won countless awards, invents flavour combinations that attract gourmet-lovers to the town on a regular basis and has made it World Champion on two occasions. Arguably, this is one of the best places in the entire world to try some ice-cream and, particularly in a land known for its ice-cream, this is no small claim.

We were very pleased with Pancole Q. The property is well maintained, the atmosphere is exceptional, and the owners were responsive to our questions and needs. We were less impressed with the restaurant -- in the gastronomic heart of the world, they could do better. After two tries, we decided to go into San Gimignano to eat or to cook in the villa. That said, we had a great time and would recommend Pancole to anyone.

we stayed in the pancole q apartment as we were 5 adults. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. The rooms were large, beds were comfortable, we each had our own bathrooms. the ground were large well looked after, we had a great view, good meals and wine. the staff were very prompt when we had a small problem with one of the toilets not flushing properly. we would definitely recommend this place.

We had wonderful vacations in Pancole. It is kind of countryside paradise. The only things I would find a bit complicated were driving directions. But the location itself is absolutly superb. Definitely we will come back again.
