Property Description

The "Fonte del Salcio" is a very nice farm situated in the green hills of the Maremma near the tiny medieval town of Cinigiano. The area is wine zone of D.O.C Montecucco and Collemassari, the farm is an ideal spot to spend a pleasant and relaxing holiday, with all modern comforts. There are 3 independent houses on the property (one of which diveded into 2 units) and there is a large garden surrounding the houses with olive trees, vines and typical plants of the Mediterranean woods. The houses are furnished in a characteristic manner with antiques. You can admire the wonderful country landscape of the Maremma through the large windows. Some of the farmhouses have open fireplaces. During the hot days of summer you can swim in the pool (about 30 sqm - 1.4 m deep all over), sunbath in the garden or sleep under a beach umbrella. In every house there is satellite TV and the Tuscan D.O.C wines.

The property is composed by 3 buildings: Trenta Vizi and Zi'Momo are both detached little villas, 30-40 m distant one fromthe other; in the 3rd building you find Nonna Rosa (1st floor) and Nonno Meo (ground floor), each with independent entrance and garden area.

At guests' disposal:
Shared pool 6x12 m, depth 1.40 m, open from May to October.
Each unit has its own barbeque and equipped outdoor areas.

The 2 apartments Nonna Rosa and Nonno Meo feature large dining areas, suitable also for parties of 12 or so.

Distances:
Cinigiano is only 500 m from the house, it is a small town situated on the Maremma hills (Tuscany) and here you will find 2 good restaurants, food shops, a pharmacy and a bar, also bus service to main cities.
It's near Grosseto and approx. 45 minutes drive to the seaside, approx. 30 minutes drive to the mount Amiata.
Main distances in approx. driving time: Florence 2 hours, Siena 1 hour, Pisa 2 hours, Grosseto 30 minutes, Rome 2 hours.

Tuscany is full of grand gardens and is full of excellent art collections but there are also several places that combine the two things. One of these makes for a perfect day out for those who find a vacation rental in Maremma, the Giardino di Daniel Spoerri. A lovely sculpture garden created by the Swiss artist Daniel Spoerri in the early 1990s, it was opened to the public in 1997 and is located in Seggiano, near Monte Amiata.

If you have a passion for extreme outdoor sports then come to Tuscany in winter to try some intense Nordic walking!

This sport has become increasingly popular in the Monte Amiata region of Tuscany and would be a superb way to explore the stunning snow covered mountains here.

Stay in a comfortable vacation rental in Seggiano which is only six kilometres from Monte Amiata and ideal for spending a walking themed holiday at.

A long time ago I used to work with an American agent for Tuscany holiday rentals. He is no longer in this business but his way of describing the Tuscan properties was just great and I will always remember that. Together we went to visit this beautiful farm called Poggio Velluto in the Orcia valley near the hilltown called Seggiano. And this was his opening sentence for the property description: "As if GOD guided a medieval farmer once to the most perfect location for a farmhouse, thus was built Poggio Velluto...." And it's true... as far as locations go there are none better seen by this writer. And the style of both interior and furnishings are not far behind: a wonderful building for its angles, details, furnishings and delightfully friendly owners, this is one you will return to!

Die Ferienwohnung liegt sehr idyllisch und bietet alles was man so braucht. Allerdings ist der Vermittler EasyReserve sehr ungenau mit seinen Aussagen was den Anfahrtsweg betrifft. Ich hatte diesbezüglich extra angefragt, ob der Weg Sportwagen-tauglich ist, doch leider mussten wir dann feststellen dass entgegen der Behauptung von EasyReserve der Weg ein Feldweg war und ich mir das Fzg noch beschädigte. Leider kam auch auf eine Mail an Easy Reserve bezüglich dieses Vorfalls keine Antwort zurück. Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich, können aber leider nur englisch.

Schönes kleines Haus, schöne Lage, nette Vermieter (aber Sprachbarriere).
Für Erholungsurlaub weitab der üblichen Touristenströme, aber doch nah zwischen Meer und Siena gelegen ein klarer Tipp!
Kleines Manko: Bad sehr klein und unpraktisch, Heizung teilweise defekt _ dafür Kamin-Nutzung (Holz vor Ort ohne Zusatzkosten) – sehr romantisch;–)
Ärgerlich: Internetzugang wird extra berechnet (10 Euro/Woche) wireless – Verbindung aber extrem störanfällig und superlangsam – also eigentlich nicht zu gebrauchen.
Aber im urlaub muss man ja nicht immer online sein (also gar nicht erst buchen;–)
Sonst sehr schön!
Kleiner Tipp am Rande: Restaurant RINTOCCO in Cinigiano besuchen – lohnt sich!!!

Small drawback: bathroom very small and impractical, heating partially defective _ in its place there is the fireplace-use (wood on site at no additional cost) - very romantic. Annoying: wireless Internet access will be charged extra (10 € / week) - but the connection is extremely susceptible to interference and super slow - that is actually not to be used. But on holiday you have not to be always online (otherwise do not book it.
All in all very nice!
Small hint: go to the Restaurant RINTOCCO in Cinigiano: it is worth to be visited!

Die Region Grosseto ist nicht so sehr von Touristen überlaufen. Die Bevölkerung ist höflich und hilfsbereit.
Die Unterkunft war auch gut. Wir waren mit 9 Personen in der Wohnung. Somit waren alle Plätze ausgereizt.
An manchen Tagen war es durch den Wind doch recht kühl. Den Pool konnten wir leider nicht nutzen, da zu kalt.

The accommodation was also good. We were with 9 people in the apartment, thus it was fully occupied.
