Outdoors

The outdoor spaces of La Cerqua are nothing short of extraordinary, offering a rich variety of environments to explore and enjoy throughout your stay. The 1-hectare estate encompasses a well-tended garden bursting with diverse blooms, a splendid olive grove, and tall trees that alternate gracefully with orderly lawn areas surrounding the farmhouse and the pool. A large pergola, accessible directly from the kitchen and sitting room via 2 French windows, shelters a generously sized outdoor dining area and a comfortable living area furnished with sofas and armchairs — the perfect setting from which to savour unforgettable sunsets while enjoying an aperitif. A portable barbecue completes the al fresco dining setup, making outdoor meals a true pleasure.

Approximately 50 metres from the farmhouse, reached via a level path followed by 60 wooden steps or through the olive grove, lies the magnificent swimming pool. The non-heated pool measures 13 x 6 metres, with a depth ranging from 1.50 to 1.80 metres, and features a PVC lining with a stone border and Roman steps for easy water access. Its purification system is salt-based, ensuring clean and gentle water throughout the season. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October. Surrounding the pool is a stone-paved solarium area equipped with sunbeds, a swing chair, a gazebo, and 2 majestic palm trees that provide welcome shade during the warmest hours of the day. The pool area is further complemented by a cold water shower, a changing room, a fridge, and a toilet, ensuring every comfort during your time outdoors. Please note that photographs of the property were taken in spring, and therefore the blossoming of flowers and the colour of the garden grass may differ at the time of your arrival.

Unit Layout

La Cerqua is a spacious and elegantly appointed farmhouse spread across 2 floors, comfortably accommodating up to 8 guests across 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The main entrance on the ground floor opens into a welcoming TV room, a kitchen with a fireplace and dining area, and a second sitting room furnished with comfortable sofas. The ground floor also features a double bedroom complete with a fireplace and an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub, which communicates with a study containing a single sofa bed and its own ensuite bathroom with shower. A laundry room and a guest bathroom complete the ground floor layout.

From the ground floor, 2 separate staircases lead to the first floor, which is divided into 2 distinct wings. The first staircase, accessible from the main entrance, leads to the first wing, which houses a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with bathtub, a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with shower, and a study — open, without a door — featuring a fireplace and a single sofa bed. This wing of the first floor can also be accessed via an external staircase. A second brick staircase, leading from the second sitting room, ascends to the second wing, where a further double bedroom with a divisible bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower is located.

In the kitchen, a dishwasher is available to simplify your daily routines, while the outdoor pergola area features a portable barbecue, ideal for leisurely al fresco dining. Entertainment is well catered for with satellite TV available within the property. Pets are welcome at La Cerqua, subject to prior authorisation by the owner and the conditions outlined in the relevant section of this listing.

Other Information

La Cerqua welcomes pets, with a maximum of 1 medium-sized dog permitted per stay. Acceptance of animals must be previously authorised by the owner, who requires advance communication of the number of animals, their size, and their breed.

The property is located in Saragano, a small medieval borgo characterised by an old fortified castle and a central square, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see.
