La struttura è ricavata dalla ristrutturazione della zona agricola limitrofa al castello di Casalappi. Sono stati ricavati appartamenti di varie dimenisioni; il nostro era posto su due livelli , due camere da letto e soggiorno con angolo cottura perfettamente attrezzato. La struttura deve essere considerata come una casa vacanza ed è dotata di piscina e di una zona attrezzata con giochi all'aperto per i bimbi piccoli. La zona è tranquillissima, il mare si raggiunge in pochi minuti di auto e nel vicino paese di Riotorto c'è un fornito supermercato. Ottima la connessione wifi gratuita.
[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] The complex is derived from the restructuring of the agricultural area adjacent to the Casalappi castle. Apartments of various sizes have been created; ours was placed on two levels, two bedrooms and a living room with a fully equipped kitchenette. The structure must be considered as a holiday home and has a swimming pool and an area equipped with outdoor games for small children. The area is very quiet, the sea can be reached in a few minutes by car and in the nearby town of Riotorto there is a well-stocked supermarket. Excellent free wifi connection.

Ein sehr schönes Haus mit großem Grundstück und einem großartigen Blick auf den Trasimeno-See. Zwei separate Wohnungen, die zweckmäßig und mit mittlerem Komfort ausgestattet sind. Die obere Wohnung hat eine große Terasse, die durch ein Zauntor abgeschlossen werden kann. Das Grundstück ist mit einer Hecke abgegrenzt, zu einer Seite gibt es einen Zaun. Es ist geplant, einen Zaun um das gesamte Grundstück zu ziehen, damit ein Hund nicht weglaufen kann. Die Fenster verfügen über Fliegennetze, die Türen nicht. Der Pool ist mit 10 x 5 m gut geeignet zum Schwimmen. Wir mussten allerdings eine Fliegenklatsche zum Einsatz bringen gegen die vielen Pferdefliegen, die uns heimgesucht haben im und am Wasser. Der Pool kann nicht von Außen eingesehen werden, man kann sich ungestört sonnen und baden. Wir hatten sehr netten Kontakt mit der Vermieterin (spricht englisch) und dem Vater. Die Küchenausstattung könnte etwas umfangreicher sein.
Mit Zaun gäbe es von uns als Hundebesitzer die volle Punktzahl.

The highlight of our first visit to Tuscany"
After a frenetic stay in Florence it was just super to stay in this wonderful home which is very much off the beaten track. Guiseppa is an elegant, relaxed and helpful host who immediately makes you feel at home in this wonderful house perched on a hill top with wonderful views everywhere you look.
We had dinner there on the night we arrived with other guests from Spain, Denmark and Austria which turned out to be a great dinner party with really nice food and wine. Breakfast each morning was had in the courtyard outside where again everyone met up and chatted like old friends.
The house and grounds were really well maintained and the pool would be a lovely place to swim and spend time during summer days.
Any disappointments? Yes.
We should have stayed longer than the two nights we booked! Would love to have a return visit if we get back to Tuscany. Thanks again Guiseppa

We had a wonderful 10 day stay at the property. The house was as described and did not disappoint. The kitchen was well equipped but an electric kettle would have been very useful. The steepness of the driveway was a surprise to us and our car. The owner was very kind and understanding, when our satnav couldn't find the property he came down to the town to meet us. Would recommend the house and the views which were fantastic.

Beautiful and historical castle with spectacular views of the countryside around. Our accommodation was part of some buildings adjacent to the castle which had been very sympathetically decorated in a rustic shabby chic style, with lovely views from all sides. However, it was situatedin a shady spot which was a shame as we were unable to sit outside and enjoy the Tuscan sunshine. The amenities in the kitchen had also seen better days with a couple of the appliances perhaps needing to be renewed and utensils a bit thin on the ground. Lovely towels and bedding were supplied however and the bathrooms and bedrooms very nice. The staff in reception were very helpful and the grounds of the castle and the swimming pool were in a lovely setting. Just one major fly in the ointment - the weekend after we arrived a huge group of about 60 Swedish guests arrived who seem to think it was their right to take the whole place over. They told us that we were unable to use the pool as they had hired it for the weekend for themselves but as we were also paying guests and had not been told otherwise by the staff, we stayed in the pool but did in the end feel bullied out of it especially when they took the one sunbed that was available for us to use and put their things on it over the top of our things. That night and the following night they had a disco set up with very loud music that went on until well after 1 in the morning and could be heard from where our accommodation was. They also had a huge dinner in the courtyard of the castle and when we wanted to get to the restaurant the gates were locked around the outside and the only way through was by walking through their dinner and speeches and we didn’t feel that we wanted to do that. Thankfully they had all left by Monday morning and we were able to continue enjoying our holiday. We do feel that if the Castle wishes to take these large parties of people, then in fairness to other guests, they should close the rest of the Castle and not take any bookings for other people until the large group has departed. We did hear other guests who were staying near us complaining about the loud music to each other, so we know it wasn’t just us. EasyReserve as a company dealt with our booking well, although when I emailed them a couple of times with a couple of queries they were very slow in replying, so one time I telephoned using the number for the local rate, to find that I had been charged £7! If I had had a reply to my email I would not have got this charge. With the moans over, I would say that Castle Montegufoni is a lovely place to stay in Tuscany with a couple of of small villages nearby for basic shopping needs, and not too far from Pisa airport or Florence.

We are sorry this group behaved in such a bad way and we confirm that the pool at the Castle is never for exclusive use of a group, all guests can use the pool.
