Casale Aiola is an old stone farmhouse divided into two parts. In one part of the house lives the owner who, with his discreet presence, will be a sure reference point for any need.
The farmhouse is located about 25 km from the beautiful Cortona, in Tuscany and about 15 km from the village of Trestina, in Umbria. You can do your shopping in either Cortona or Trestina, both of which have shops, supermarkets and services.
From here you have easy access to green Umbria, with its small villages nestled in the lush hills and bucolic landscapes of Lake Trasimeno, Perugia is only 60 km away.
Similarly, once you have reached Cortona, the splendid towns and cities of southern Tuscany will open up for you to discover. From Cortona to the farmhouse the road is perhaps a little long, even though it is all paved. But once you are there you will be rewarded with the absolute tranquillity of the place.
In our opinion Casale Aiola is definitely suitable for groups of families with children. The large green space around the house is perfect for the little ones to run and play in the middle of nature. Also available, in front of the house, is a children's swimming pool (size m. 4x8 - depth 0.60 m., table tennis, table football, children's games and a bowling green. Pets are welcome (extra charge could be required).
For adults and children there is a large private swimming pool (size 9x16 m. -depth 1,20 m. completely fenced - open from 15 May to 30th September) with bathroom with shower and a small gazebo with fridge to cool down on hot summer days and the tennis court.

Description
Villa Cantagallo has the old-world charm of an ancient manor house. The spacious rooms, fireplaces, arches and exposed stonework combine well with the rustic furnishings chosen by the owners, and will take you back in time when these huge dwellings were the hub of farmhouses.
You will find Villa Cantagallo a short distance from the charming Etruscan town of Cortona (8 km), a destination of great artistic, historical and architectural interest that is definitely worth a visit. You will leave your heart in Cortona, in its paved alleys that climb up the hill, you will immerse yourself in an almost magical atmosphere, as if suspended in time.
Don't forget to dine in one of the countless restaurants and trattorias in the historic centre; our advice is definitely local red wine and a nice Tagliata of Chianina beef!
Until a few years ago the house was the heart of a large farm, then a recent and careful renovation, which the owners carried out with love and care to keep the old features of the villa unaltered, transformed it into a cosy holiday home.
Still next to the house you will find the wine cellar where the owner produces excellent wine (Vino DOC Cortona), which you can taste for free during your holiday.
All around the house you will have at your disposal a large green area equipped with gazebo, table and chairs for your outdoor dinners in company, barbecue, games for children and shaded parking spaces. Casetta i Ciliegi is the ideal place for those who want to spend a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of city life and be in close contact with nature. Green woods, steep hills and cultivated countryside frame this beautiful house with a large, fully-fenced outdoor area where you can relax in the beautiful private swimming pool (size 7x4 mt, depth 1.20-1.50 mt - open from 01st May to 30th September) and in the porch furnished with table, chairs and barbecue.

The beautiful town of Cortona, with its stone alleys, Rugapiana and the Church of Santa Margherita, and the medieval town of Castiglion Fiorentino are both about 15 km away and have all the necessary shops and services. Casetta i Ciliegi can be reached via a scenic mountain road that is partly unpaved (about 4 km), not recommended for sports cars. Especially the first time it may be a little difficult, but once you get there you will understand that it is worth making a little effort to admire such a beautiful view. La Casa nel Borgo is located in the ancient hamlet of Cantalena Alta and is now part of an almost completely restored rural complex consisting of 6 small houses, where efforts have been made to keep alive the ancient traditions and times gone by, using stone in the restoration along with original reclaimed materials.
A road that climbs through green woods and breathtaking views will lead you to La Casa nel Borgo. The first time it may seem a little challenging, but as soon as you arrive at your destination you will be rewarded with absolute peace, stunning views, unspoilt spaces and unforgettable sunsets. The place is your paradise if you are a nature lover, surrounded by cool green forests and inhabited by local wildlife. It is not difficult, on summer evenings, to come across friendly hares, porcupines, roe deer or fallow deer.
The small hamlet has a beautiful panoramic swimming pool (10x5 mt, depth 1.20-1.60 mt - open from 17 May to 27 September) completely fenced and with a Roman steps, which is about 100 metres from your house and in common use with the other guests. In the solarium you will have your own private area with 4 sun beds and a sun umbrella, where you can spend your lazy days by the pool. The house also has a private, shaded area with a table and chairs, where you can enjoy your meals in the peace of the cobbled alley.
The house is equipped with all the necessary comforts, furnished in rustic style, reminiscent of the rural homes of our grandparents, the beamed ceilings (the size of some of the doors are quite small), the terracotta floors, the old marble sink... we can assure you that spending your holiday here will be a real plunge into the past!
The little house, in our opinion, is ideal for couples, even with children; if you wish to get away from it all, it will become your favourite place, you will only be disturbed by birdsong, and in the morning you will wake up to a wonderful view to greet you. At Casa nel Borgo quiet, tranquillity and the slow, lazy flow of the days will be the watchwords of your holiday. The nearest shops are in Castiglion Fiorentino, about 15 km away. And about 9 km away, in the lttle village of Santa Cristina, you will find a small grocery shop and a Tuscan restaurant. The villa is divided into two independent apartments, one of which is inhabited by the owner.
The characteristic village of San Feliciano is 1.5 km away and can be reached by a short walk. Here you will find small shops for basic necessities, but above all you will have the opportunity to have lunch or dinner along the lake, with Isola Polvese as a backdrop. In Magione, about 5 km away, you will find supermarkets and shops of all kinds, and in Corciano a large shopping centre.
Lake Trasimeno, with its small towns, water sports opportunities and equipped beaches, is waiting to be discovered. In a little more than an hour you can make the complete tour by car, or better still enjoy a boat trip to Isola Maggiore, with its small fishing village, an activity that is also perfect for your children.
The large swimming pool will be at your disposal (size 12x6 m, depth 0.60-2 - open from 01st June to 30 September); occasionally it is also used by the owner who will be, albeit very discreetly, an excellent point of reference in case of need. You will have your own private space for your car within the fully fenced property, where even your small four-legged friends will be welcome.
The house is comfortable, furnished with particular taste by the owner with local antiques, has a large living room with sofas and an antique fireplace, two comfortable double bedrooms and a smaller one perfect for a child.
Certainly, in addition to the proximity to important centres such as Perugia, Arezzo and Siena, which you can visit with convenient day trips, in our opinion the highlight of the villa is the view from the house and its outdoor space. Podere Marcigliano consists of 2 newly built villas, which nevertheless reflect the architectural characteristics of the farmhouses of the past. In the first building there are 3 apartments (Torreone, Tufa and the first floor owner’s apartment), in the second there are 2 units (Corito and Rugapiana).
Each apartment has a large green area, a beautiful swimming pool (size 7x14 m, depth 1.50 m - open from 17 May to 30 September and fully fenced), a barbecue, a laundry room in common use and children's games, and its own private area equipped with a furnished gazebo for your meals in the open air.
You will find yourself living your stay in contact with nature but still close to the major centres of Tuscany and Umbria. All around the farm a large green space where each house has its own private corner with a gazebo equipped with table and chairs. This will be your favourite place on warm summer evenings, chatting with friends and a good bottle of red wine. Le Chianacce farm was founded in the last century and was aimed at raising the prized beef and pork that has always been produced in this area. The owner wanted to recover a part of it, leaving it completely identical to the original construction and equipping it with simple and essential furnishings, which will bring you back to the warm atmospheres of times gone by.
Near the farm you will find the small village of Farneta with the eponymous Abbey of Romanesque origin, which is definitely worth a visit. Because of its strategic location, from the house you can easily reach all the most important art cities and tourist resorts of central Italy.
Only 7 km away you will find the characteristic town of Foiano della Chiana, with its red brick buildings, perched on a green hillock. In Foiano there are all the necessary services, restaurants and trattorias where you can enjoy typical dishes and local wines, supermarkets, stores, pharmacies. If you love shopping, a few kilometers away, you will also find the Valdichiana Village.
The Farm has six apartments, four of which are available to guests, and two inhabited by the owners.
