Dating back to the 12th century and restored in the 17th century by the noble family of Acciaioli, the Castle has a magnificent tower built on the model of the one of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
Montegufoni Castle is part of a large estate comprising vineyards and olive trees and is surrounded by the beautiful Chianti landscape. In the castle there are 39 apartments and a large garden with a nice swimming pool: the perfect spot to relax and have fun with your family and friends.

The swimming pool, measuring 4 x 8 m with a uniform depth of 140 cm, is open seasonally from May 1st to October 15th and is regularly maintained by the owner and gardener, ensuring it remains clean and in excellent condition throughout the season. Guests can unwind on the terrace, which is furnished with comfortable garden furniture perfectly suited for outdoor dining, leisurely breakfasts, or simply soaking in the views of the countryside. A barbecue is available for those who wish to enjoy al fresco meals in the warm Tuscan evenings, and an outdoor shower provides a practical and refreshing amenity after a swim. Description
Ancient building comprising 4 apartments (one is occupied by the property owners) situated in the historical centre of the medieval town of Certaldo Alto. All of the 3 units have been recently restored and offer nicely furnished and cozy interiors. At their arrival, guests staying at Certaldo will be given a permission allowing them to drive to their apartment and make use of a parking situated in an internal courtyard near the apartments. During the month of July (approx. 10 days) there is a very nice “festival” (“named Mercantia”) taking place in the historical centre of Certaldo Alto (the oldest part of the town), where local artists and artisans show their works until late at the night. During this period of the year the access to the internal courtyard for parking is not possible.
Distances: the centre of Certaldo Basso with all kind of shops and train station (with trains to Florence and Siena) 500 m away (the town is also accessible by a funicular leaving every 15 minutes - duration of the trip 1 minute), Florence 40 km away, Siena 35 km, the renowned town of San Gimignano 9 km away, Volterra 50 km, Pisa 55 km.
At guests disposal: guests have access to a beautiful tower (common room) overlooking the roofs of the ancient town and offering splendid panoramic views over the surrounding landscape and San Gimignano in the distance. This tower is furnished with tables and chairs and in summer it also provides sun-beds. Wi-fi internet access (free of charge). All of the apartments provide mosquito nets and fans in the bedrooms.
