Florentine paper making traditions are used to create picture frames, journals, gift bags, etc. The paper used to be used as stationary paper, wonderfully decorated with attractive colours.

However, since nobody really uses paper these days to write their letters, the Italians have come up with various ways of keeping this tradition alive, by using the paper for many other things such as those listed above.

The Mostra Internazionale dell'Artigianato is one of the most famous Trade Fairs in Italy. Every year you can see the handcrafted products of the ancient Florentine Workshops and see some of the fantastic arts that are being rediscovered by this fair.

Planning a holiday around Easter? Why not make your destination the beautiful area of Florence in Italy? In Florence there is a folk tradition at Easter called the Scoppio del Carro (Explosion of the Cart) where a cart, packed full of fireworks and other forms of pyrotechnics, is lit on Easter Sunday in the Piazza del Duomo.
It is a wonderful display of colour that is not to be missed!
