You can start off your tour around Lucignano by visiting the sanctuary of the Madonna della Querce, which was designed by the important Renaissance artist Vasari. Other sights to see include the Convent of the Cappuccini, the Museo Civico, and the church of Misericordia.
Inside the Museo Civico, you'll find an impressive reliquary that was originally made for the Franciscan church, adorned with fine jewels and gilding.
The local economy is based around grains, fruits, and vegetables, and so these fresh ingredients are often combined in the local cuisine, which is hearty and typically Tuscan.
Although the mild climate and variety of sights to see in Lucignano makes it a special place to visit throughout the year, it really comes alive in the month of May.
