Sehr schöne Unterkunft in einer typischen toskanischen Landschaft, sehr gepflegtes Gelände mit privatem Spielplatz für Kinder. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und familiär. Ein Höhepunkt war eine Weinprobe im eigene Weinkeller.

A bit off the beatin path but once you are at the property it's well worth the trek. Million dollar views out your window and the hotel restaurant is first class.

Als erstes waren wir nicht sicher was uns erwartet, aber alle unsere Erwartungen wurden mehr als übertroffen. Der Turm befindet sich auf einem Privatgrundstück (ca. 2km Bergauf vom Hauptanwesen), welches trotz der teilweise unbefestigten Strasse, auch mit einem normalem Auto recht gut zu erreichen ist. Nach der herzlichen Begrüssung wurden wir zum Turm begleitet und ab dem ersten Moment fing das Geniessen an. Kaminholz war vor dem Turm aufgestapelt, sogar eine Flasche Wein und hausgemachte Zitronenmarmelade wurde zur Begrüssung übergeben.
Die Ruhe, die Aussicht und die Natur um den Turm herum, haben uns den Alltag schnell vergessen lassen. Den ganzen Tag kroch ein einmaliger Wild-Pfefferminz- und Wild-Rosmarinduft in unsere Nasen und nur der Wind und Wasser waren zu hören. Bei gutem Wetter hat man im Richtung West – Südwest auch die schönen Inseln Giglio, Elba und Montecristo gut sehen können, oder wenn man sich umdreht hat man ein Superblick ins Landesinnere gehabt.
Wir haben auch die Möglichkeit genutzt zu Fuss den Naturpark zu erforschen und den privaten Naturstrand zum Baden und Sonnen zu nutzen, also Wanderer oder Mountainbiker kommen auch auf Ihre Kosten ;-)
Der Ausflug nach Talamone, zum Naturstrand von Albarese und zu warmen Quellen von Saturnia ist auch ein Muss.
Ansonsten kann man abends den Tag ruhig ausklinken lassen, nach dem Sonnenuntergang dann entweder vor dem Kamin das Feuerknistern geniessen, oder in der Turmspitze einfach chillen.

Das Haus liegt absolut ruhig in der Hügellandschaft des Chianti und bildet einen idealen Ausgangspunkt für Radtouren. Rasch ist man auch mit dem Auto auf der Schnellstraße, die Siena mit Florenz verbindet. Wenige Kilometer sind es nach Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra. Die Anlage ist sehr sauber. Die Einrichtung bietet alles, was für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt nötig ist. Eine privat abgeschirmte Terrasse gibt es nicht, suchten wir aber auch nicht. Direkt vor Ort gibt es Wein und Öl zu kaufen. Das Personal an der Rezeption ist sehr hilfsbereit und spricht u.a. deutsch.

The Apartment is grand and well furnished in antique style. We had a very enjoyable stay.
My only minor quibbles were:
a) All the showers lacked a shelf to place toileteries while showering...this can and should be easily remedied
b) The showers had good pressure, but the shower heads were very fine, so that the stream of water was very painful (like needles!) the shower heads at Pergolo were perfect and perhaps the ones at Padronale should be changed
c) From the internet description, it wasnt actually clear that the house is so far from any civilization or transport links! San Polo is 4-5km away on an uneven dirt road, which was a bit disconcerting coming up at dusk the first time....its a bit far to get quick groceries (and the shops are open short hours). There are very few transport options at San Polo (only 2 buses a day - early morn and evening to florence) so if any part of the party of guests that want to go off independently from the rest of the group needs to have a separate car.

Perfect location and setting. Well furnished but could use a couple of comfortable chairs in the living room. This is our second stay and the contact instructions are wrong. If you have a problem go to the Caparzo tasting room which is well marked from Strada Brunello. The people there are very professional and helpful.

Villa is in a very good shape, 10-15 minutes drive (at speed limit, the local may do it faster) to the village of Cortona, and about 6 minutes drive to the supermarket (Coop). Surroundings of the house are nice and the owner is very friendly.
