Organised by the Fondazione Paesaggi Musicali Toscani (Tuscan Musical Landscapes Foundation), which was established by the Municipality of San Quirico d'Orcia and the Musica Insieme Association, and directed by musician Eleonora Contucci (professor at the Monteverdi Conservatory in Bolzano and director of the Montepulciano Easter Festival), the festival is also supported by the contributions of music lovers in Italy and around the world. Having only expanded in recent years, it is a massive programme for supporting and appreciating the arts in a region that has so long been a major centre of culture.
