The Gucci Museum in Florence was recently reopened on the 10th of January 2018, under the vision of Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s current creative director, under whom the brand has been given new life and relevance. Located inside the Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence's Piazza Signoria that dates to 1337, the Gucci Museum has been open since 2011 and is spread across several floors.
It encompasses a boutique that stocks exclusive pieces, an exhibition curated by Maria Luisa Frisa and the Gucci Osteria, which is manned by the three-Michelin-starred chef, Massimo Bottura. This restaurant, alone, is reason enough to find a luxury villa in Florence and drop by the museum.

The Gucci Osteria, as you would imagine, is a stylish spot. With bright green walls, aquamarine velvet chairs and booths, patterned china and crisp white linens, the 50-seat restaurant is the latest venture of Massimo Bottura, the Modena-based proprietor of the three-Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana (which we've written about before here). Said restaurant was named the best restaurant in the world in 2016, giving us all plenty of reason to be excited for this new restaurant!
Expect a diverse menu with some surprises. Among the Parmigiano-Reggiano-enriched tortellini, buttery cacio e pepe, and creamy mushroom risotto, you'll also find some high-end interpretations of a hot dog and a burger, and some global dishes like the Peruvian tostadas and Asian-tinged buns stuffed with fatty pork belly.
Prices aren't cheap, by any means, with main course options ranging between 20 to 30 euros each but they're not outlandish for Gucci or cooking of this caliber. So, just one question remains: when are you going to get to planning your next trip to Florence? I know I simply can't wait to pay this spot a visit!
