Parco delle Cascine is stunning parkland and the biggest in the city. It runs along the majestic River Arno and was created back in 1563 and completed under the guidance of Alessandro, Duke of Florence and Cosimo I de’ Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany.

It’s full of stunning meadows, winding pathways and monuments. It’s also very easy to reach; you can get the train from the Santa Maria Novella station to a stop in the park called Viale degli Olmi.

Chiesa di Santa Margherita de’ Cerchi is an ancient church in the historic centre of Florence. It has many ties with the Master Italian poet, Dante Alighieri. His great love Beatrice is buried here and many people leave love letters in a basket by her tomb in the hope she’ll answer their prayers for lasting romance.
