Il Pergolo apartment of Villa Fabbroni was fantastic for our group of 7 people (2 of which were young children) plus a dog! We loved its beautiful, rural location off the beaten path at the top of a hill. We loved the authentic yet comfortable feel of the restored villa. Each of the 4 bedrooms even had its own bathroom, which was great for getting us all out early enough to tour around (we went to Pisa/Lucca, Greve in Chianti, and Sienna). We dined at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and Sergio's cooking was delicious! We even had the Tues night pizza in the apartment, which was great and relaxing after a day of sightseeing. We saw other guests having a cooking class with Sergio and wish we'd had time to do that too...maybe next time! Stefano was very helpful providing maps and info for touring the area. It was also helpful that Sergio and Stefano both spoke fluent English, too! Our vacation was even better than we had hoped for, we hope to return. Don't miss trying the wine, olive oil and honey they produce on site.

Das Haus und die Gegend sind sehr schön. Wir hatten totale Ruhe und Kräuter und Feigenbäume auf dem Anwesen. Die Vermieter waren sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Allerdings hat die romantisch-abgelegene Lage den Nachteil einer echt steilen Schotterstraße, für die wir gerne einen Vierrad-Antrieb gehabt hätten.

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. However, the romantic and secluded location had the disadvantage of a really steep dirt-track road, for which we would have liked a four-wheel drive car.

What a fantastic place to stay. Charming, private, with exceptional views. It was perfect. And, being a quick 10-minute drive to San Gimignano was icing on the cake!

My husband and I stayed with another couple at Il Granaino for 2 weeks in October 2011. Our hosts were gracious, available when appropriate, and caring about our comfort. The property is simply beautiful, and the house was spacious and well equipped for 2 couples. The location is very convenient for day trips in Tuscany by car. We also enjoyed a couple of at-home days during our stay as the Il Granaino accommodation was comfortable and peaceful, with a lovely garden to walk in and charming views of the valley. It was very convenient to have the family restaurant a few minutes away, as we could eat there in the evening if we wished, or just purchase some bread, cheese, meats and home-grown olive oil for eating at Il Granaino. We unreservedly recommend Il Granaino for a memorable Tuscan experience.
