If you plan to visit the majestic city of Siena during your holiday to Tuscany, you might be aware that it doesn’t have a river flowing through it. Centuries ago, the Sienese government built an extensive underground aqueduct system to pump essential water supplies in for its people. This intricate twenty five mile long network is almost like an underground city and it seems to have its own river, only it cannot be seen; only heard!
Visitors wishing to stay here for a few days to learn more about Siena’s underground ghost river as well as engaging in other exciting activities, have plenty of superb city apartments and holiday villas to choose from both within and around the city.
