The communal atmosphere of the small groups that tend to gather around in the piazza outside the shop in the afternoon and evenings is vibrant and the large selection of interesting craft beers offered at De Cervesia Beer & Shop is compelling – there are bottles of beers from all sorts of fascinating microbreweries all over Italy (but mostly in the north), some bottled foreign beers, and seven local offerings on draft for visitors to choose between and sample.
With the staff on hand boasting incredible knowledge and expertise and an utter joy in sharing these things with customers, this is the perfect place to learn all about the lesser-celebrated Italian craft beer scene – the over 200 beers themselves, the breweries that they come from, the methods used to produce the beers, and much more besides. Breweries that supply the store include the aforementioned Birrificio Brùton as well as Birrificio del Forte, Toptà, Bibibir, Birrificio Lambrate, Ritual Lab, Hammer, Brewfist, Extraomnes, Birrificio Rurale, Retorto, Birra Vetra, Birrificio Lariano, Loverbeer, and Birrone.
Certainly, if you are on vacation in Lucca and love beer, this is the ideal spot in which to find some great beers to suit your tastes. Furthermore, the brand's tap room and more beers are in another location just around the corner if you can’t get enough and there is now a third location with beer and food on offer to visit as well.
