3. Bagni di San Filippo
Located only half an hour away from the previously mentioned Bagno Vignoni, Bagni San Filippo in the Orcia Valley near San Quirico d'Orcia and Pienza, is home to hot springs located in the town's forest. Like Bagnono Vignoni, it was known by the Romans, became widely famous in the Middle Ages and remains well-known to this day. Visitors can take a dip in the pool carved in rock (known as Balena Bianca, meaning “white whale") or the series of other pools or they can opt for a mud bath. The further you venture into the Fosso Bianco, the more incredible things you will find Fosso Bianco such as the famous waterfall. Just find a luxury villa in the Orcia Valley and you can unwind in any one of the hot springs in Bagni San Filippo.
4. Saturnia
Saturnia is a famous little town, on the top of a hill, in the Maremma area of Tuscany and is well-known for its thermal springs. This is a spa destination that also has an extremely long history that actually stretches back to even before the Romans. In fact, a Greek historian from 60BC recorded that this area was inhabited by pre-classical populations of Greece. Its natural thermal springs are truly extraordinary. The sulphureous waters of the Cascate del Mulino are at a constant temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius and flow across streams and pools. They are probably the most famous natural springs in Tuscany and are open to the public and free throughout the entire year. Just find a vacation rental in Saturnia and experience this picture-perfect spa town for yourself.
