The Ballet of Moscow will be returning to Florence’s beautiful La Pergola theatre after the huge success of last year's performance. On the 23rd of December, the company will perform Tchaikovsky’s much-loved ballet, The Nutcracker. The Nutcracker tells the tale of a toy, the eponymous nutcracker, given to a girl named Clara on Christmas Eve. When she falls asleep, she dreams about a battalion of mice trying to steal the Nutcracker, it coming alive, throwing a slipper at the King of the Mice, the Nutcracker turning into a prince and Clara following him into a snowy forest, all before waking up to find it was only a dream.
