Follonica town
Spend a superb holiday in the lively seaside town of Follonica in Grosseto province! The white sandy Blue Flag beaches of Follonica, its extensive water sports facilities, stylish eateries and excellent shopping districts are what have made it a popular holiday resort among Italians and foreign tourists alike.

Stay in a stunning luxury villa in Follonica where you’ll be greeted with stunning sea views and refreshing salty air when you wake up each morning!

Etruscan in origin, Follonica was founded to be a settled commune for people mining the precious metals abundant in the Maremma. It’s prosperity and population grew dramatically during the 19th century when the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Leopoldo II invested a lot of time and money in polishing Follonica’s appearance and constructing extravagant monuments and infrastructure to transform it into the modern commune it is today.
Beach in Follonica
Walk along the splendid Piazza al Mare that connects Follonica town centre with the glittering sea. Admire the majestic white marble statue that stands tall in this piazza called ‘Il Portale del Mistero’, illustrating the town’s strong ties with the sea.

Spend an hour or two at Follonica’s magma museum which demonstrates the incredible advance metal works of the Etruscan civilisation. Gaze upon artefacts that have been rediscovered and carefully restored to emphasise the genius of the Etruscan metalworkers and also some modern ironwork furniture and ornaments that have been made by modern metalwork artisans.
