Witness Some Of The Best Tuscan Festivals In September

View of Lucca city
September in Tuscany is a magical time of year; this month is literally bursting with festivals and fairs for tourists to enjoy! Stay in a gorgeous luxury Tuscan villa with swimming pool which you can enjoy at your ease after a few days of festival exploration!

Why not check out the ‘Festa della Esaltazione della Santa Croce’ in Lucca city on 13th September.
Impruneta grape festival
It’s the most important festival in this city’s religious calendar with the main event being a procession through the streets where the crowd carry a wooden crucifix figure.

Held in honour of ‘Volto Santo’, the Holy Face, this solemn parade is made even more beautiful with each person carrying lit candles in the fading light of evening. A lovely concert is held afterwards in Lucca’s cathedral followed by a feast, music and fireworks along the river. This is truly a magical event not to be missed!

September is a great month for food and wine festivals so get yourself over to the town of Impruneta if you wish to enjoy the popular grape festival there on the last Sunday of September. Witness a colourful parade through the streets followed by wine tasting of the local vineyards and delicious food products of Impruneta and the surrounding countryside.

Browse through the charming little craft fair in the town centre and dance along to the music that weaves through the streets during this heart-warming day.
Chianti wine grapes
Taste the delicious flavours of two famous wine festivals in the wine producing region of Chianti in Tuscany. One is held during the second weekend of September and continues later on the following Thursday and Friday. Sample all the fruits of vineyard labour here along with some divine local foods like cheeses and dried fruits that accompany the wine beautifully.

Another wine festival is held around the same time between the 18th and 21st September in the town of Panzano in Chianti and yet another in Borgo di Vagliagli during the last week in September.
