Continuing from our introductory article on Ten fantastic summer events taking place in Tuscany, here’s the rest of our exciting list! Why not book into a beautiful villa rental in Tuscany to enjoy relaxing at between your festival attendance?

6) Terre di Siena Festival – This marvellous events runs from June to September, most of which takes place in Siena city with some others hosted in surrounding towns and villages. It encompasses other Sienese celebrations like the Val d’Orcia Festival, Montepulciano’s International Art Exhibition and the Chigiana Musical summer Festival among many more. You could spend a very festive summer in Siena this year!

7) Archaeological nights – This is a celebration of Tuscany’s fascinating archaeological sites. It takes place in July and is a fun way to stuff some worthwhile culture into your vacation! Visit historical spots in Cortona, Populonia and Sovana for example and admire them during the day or when they’re beautifully lit up at night. There’s a lot of learning to be absorbed during this fascinating event.

8) Florentine Summer – This pop and rock music celebration encompasses lots of other attractions such as theatre, dancing, food and artistic exhibitions.

It runs between June to September and takes place along the mighty River Arno in Parco delle Cascine and Cavea dell’Opera di Firenze.

9) Puccini Festival – This is hosted in the pretty town of Torre del Lago beside Massaciuccoli Lake. It began to honour the renowned Italian composer Giacomo Puccini who lived here. It began in 1930 and is a lovely celebration of this man’s great work. It’s a magical event not to be missed!

10) Bolgheri Melody Festival – This fantastic Tuscan event takes place between July and August and is a symphony of entertainment for all ages. Most events take place in the Mario Incisa della Rochetta Arena, also known as the ‘Summer Temple of Melody’. Poetry, wine, theatre…this is such an elegant event that would truly enrich your tourist experience of Tuscany!
