
Located on the northern slopes of the Apennines in Pistoia province is the lovely village of Sambuca Pistoiese. Despite the name, the famous Italian liquor called Sambuca doesn’t originate here; it’s thought to have been invented in the coastal town of Civitavecchia in the province of Rome.

There are several delicious restaurants in the village for tourists to choose from in the evening after a day of exploring the town and stunning natural landscape of the Apennines. One in particular is called ‘Caciosteria’ and has received many excellent reviews for serving rustic Tuscan dishes in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
