Planning a holiday around Easter? Why not make your destination the beautiful area of Florence in Italy? In Florence there is a folk tradition at Easter called the Scoppio del Carro (Explosion of the Cart) where a cart, packed full of fireworks and other forms of pyrotechnics, is lit on Easter Sunday in the Piazza del Duomo.

If you wish to stay in the city itself there are some wonderful apartments available to rent that look over some of the large squares such as Piazza Della Signoria. This is a prime location and it is quite near the aformentioned Piazza del Duomo. Also there are museums and art galleries to visit, as well as the fantastic architecture for which Florence is famous.
Alternatively, if you would like to stay in a villa in the Florentine hills, outside of the city, but with the option of taking day trips into the centre to see some of the sites, then why not rent a villa?
