What is the difference between a farmhouse and villa rental?

At Tuscany-villas.it we have decided to merge the properties into a single category called Villas/Farmhouses. For the Tuscan marketplace this works well because, in fact, most properties that people call 'villas' are actually restored farmhouses. In other markets it might not be so, like the Caribbean where most properties are new and are commonly referred to as villas.

If you are searching for a vacation rental in Tuscany I would not be too concerned about the property category as defined by the owner. On most sites villas and farmhouses are interchangeable as it is on our site. If you are looking for a newer property, not a restored farmhouse, then you really need to specify that in your request.
One point worth mentioning about restored farmhouses is that most are restored with an effort to retain the old world charm, the exception is in the kitchen and bathroom areas. The kitchen and bathrooms are normally upgraded to include all the modern amenities.
