Appartamento Casaglia
Historic building dating back to the 12th century, originally the chapel of the Santa Maria church, located a short distance from the hamlet of Casaglia, about 10 km from splendid San Gimignano.
Over the centuries the chapel was deconsecrated, turned into a lookout tower, and then a place where farmers from the surrounding countryside gathered for country festivals. The owners restored the building themselves, using the same materials and leaving the original structure unaltered while being able to offer 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.

The structure in subdivided into 3 apartments, (there is no internal access between apartments) which come rented to one single party as a single rental villa. The largest apartment holds a dining room large enough for 8 guests to dine together.
The owners (who are very friendly but not intrusive) manage a family agricultural business from the same location and live a few meters away but do not share any of the outdoor areas with the guests – they do reserve access to a passage which runs below the largest apartment for use only when truly necessary. They will be available should guests require help or advice for what to visit and where to go to enjoy the best of Tuscany.
The property available for rent and the property where the owners live are separated by a border of flowers which gives the guests the most privacy possible.

Ancient building comprising 4 apartments (one is occupied by the property owners) situated in the historical centre of the medieval town of Certaldo Alto. All of the 3 units have been recently restored and offer nicely furnished and cozy interiors. At their arrival, guests staying at Certaldo will be given a permission allowing them to drive to their apartment and make use of a parking situated in an internal courtyard near the apartments. During the month of July (approx. 10 days) there is a very nice “festival” (“named Mercantia”) taking place in the historical centre of Certaldo Alto (the oldest part of the town), where local artists and artisans show their works until late at the night. During this period of the year the access to the internal courtyard for parking is not possible.

The Tuscan countryside, San Gimignano and Certaldo. Leaving the main road, a country lane lined with cypress trees and surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, wheat fields and woods, leads us to Caselsa. The unique world-famous San Gimignano with its 'beautiful towers' lies behind us and to one side is the medieval village of Certaldo Alta, Boccaccio's birthplace also famous for Della Robbia's ceramics, Benozzo Gozzoli's frescoes, Pier Francesco Fiorentino and other well-known medieval painters.
The ancient Tower and the completely restored farmhouse. Caselsa's name comes from the River Elsa which flows through the valley. It was the last house to the North of a large farm and originally only consisted of a single 'Tower' built explicitly as a look out for approaching strangers. Over the years the building was enlarged several times and in fact the various periods of construction are easy to see. In 1992 the whole building was completely renovated and divided into 5 apartments, each equipped with all the modern comforts (Satellite-TV, W-Fi Internet access) and with a swimming pool (6x12m), barbecue. Each apartment has its own garden equipped with a table and chairs. The property is completely fenced.
